My stint in Dev will help me get away from the image of being a saree-clad bahu: Jigyasa Singh
Jigyasa Singh will soon be back with Dev 2 and she addresses her thoughts on the new show.
Jigyasa Singh, popularly known as Thapki even today, courtesy her earlier successful show on Colors is back to the channel in a brand new avatar!!
As reported by IWMBuzz, Jigyasa has joined the team of Dev for the new season which will go on air very soon!!
Jigyasa's thought behind grabbing this role was to get away from the image of being a saree-clad bahu.
Says the pretty and talented actress, "I wanted to stay away from being typecast as a TV bahu. This is a finite series and gives me an altogether different experience. Finally, I play a character that is my age. She's a typical South Mumbai girl who is seen always in western attire. Having said this, the character is very unlike me, as I usually prefer to be in traditional attire. I never wear the typical modern dresses.
Jigyasa will be the right hand of Dev (Ashish Choudhary), and will assist him in the series. "I will be seen always with Dev. I will be part of the action sequences too. While Dev is a serious person, my character will be full of life, bubbly and full-on-drama.
Ask her whether she had to acquire training for action, and she is quick to say, "Well, my action experience in Thapki Pyar Ki has already given me a learning curve. On a serious note, yes, I am learning a lot about action with this experience. The challenge is that we always shoot at outdoor locations; hence as actors, we need to make quick adjustments. Overall, I am enjoying the different experience.
Jigyasa was earlier busy with her project in Indonesia. "Yes, in between my Indonesia schedules, I got a little bit of time for myself. I enjoyed that phase. And now to be back to work is great. The best part is that I am back to Colors.
The actress thanks her fans for having waited for her return patiently. "They have been waiting for me for long now. I have not told them directly that I am doing this series. I am happy for them; they have been very supportive.
Best of luck, Jigyasa!!
