**Chapter 2: The Mysterious Assignment**

The next morning, Sahiba arrived at Brar Enterprises early, eager to immerse herself in her new role. She navigated the bustling office with a newfound sense of purpose, her mind focused on her undercover mission. As she approached her desk, she noticed a stack of files and a note waiting for her.

"Ms. Kaur, please review these documents before our 10 a.m. meeting. – A.S.B."

Sahiba's heart skipped a beat. Angad had assigned her work already. She quickly settled in, her fingers deftly flipping through the files. As she reviewed the information, she was struck by the complexity and scope of the projects Brar Enterprises was involved in. It was clear that this was no ordinary company.

At precisely 10 a.m., Sahiba made her way to the conference room. The room was already filling up with executives and managers, all engaged in animated discussions. She took a seat near the end of the table, trying to blend in. Just as she was getting comfortable, the room fell silent. Angad Brar had entered.

"Good morning, everyone," Angad began, his voice commanding attention. "Today, we will be discussing several high-priority projects. I expect everyone to be on their A-game."

As the meeting progressed, Sahiba listened intently, taking meticulous notes. She was impressed by Angad's ability to lead the discussion with such authority and insight. He had a way of making complex issues seem manageable, his strategic mind always one step ahead.

"Sahiba," Angad said, breaking her train of thought. "I'd like to hear your thoughts on the new marketing strategy. You've had a chance to review the documents. What do you think?"

Sahiba's pulse quickened. All eyes were on her. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "I believe the proposed strategy has potential, but I think we could enhance it by leveraging more digital channels. Our current approach seems heavily reliant on traditional media, and we're missing out on a significant online audience."

Angad raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Go on."

"By incorporating targeted social media campaigns and optimizing our SEO, we can reach a broader demographic. Additionally, partnering with influencers could boost our brand visibility significantly," Sahiba continued, her confidence growing with each word.

The room buzzed with murmurs of approval. Angad nodded thoughtfully. "That's an excellent point, Ms. Kaur. I appreciate your insight. Let's explore this further."

After the meeting, Angad approached Sahiba as the room began to empty. "You made some compelling points today, Ms. Kaur. I'd like you to join the marketing team for the duration of this project."

Sahiba was taken aback. "Thank you, Mr. Brar. I appreciate the opportunity."

Angad smiled, a rare warmth in his eyes. "I have high expectations for you, Ms. Kaur. Don't let me down."

As Sahiba left the conference room, she couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. She had managed to make a strong impression on her first real day. But beneath her professional exterior, her mind was already working on her undercover mission. The closer she got to the inner workings of the company, the more secrets she could uncover.

That afternoon, Sahiba joined the marketing team for a brainstorming session. Mirza, the charming head of marketing, welcomed her with open arms. "Welcome to the team, Sahiba. We're glad to have you."

"Thank you, Mirza. I'm excited to get started," Sahiba replied, taking a seat at the large table surrounded by enthusiastic team members.

As the session progressed, Sahiba found herself contributing more and more, her ideas flowing naturally. She could feel the energy and creativity in the room, and it was invigorating. Mirza was particularly impressed with her insights, frequently nodding in agreement.

"You've got a real knack for this, Sahiba," Mirza said during a break. "It's like you've been with us for years."

Sahiba laughed, her heart warming at the compliment. "Thank you, Mirza. I'm just passionate about what I do."

Their conversation was interrupted by Angad, who had entered the room unnoticed. "I see you're fitting in well, Ms. Kaur," he remarked, his gaze fixed on her.

"Thank you, Mr. Brar. The team has been very welcoming," Sahiba replied, her pulse quickening under his intense scrutiny.

"Good. I expect great things from you," Angad said, his tone serious but with a hint of a smile. "Mirza, keep me updated on your progress."

As Angad left the room, Sahiba felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. She was now deeply embedded in the company's projects, and the stakes were higher than ever. Her mission to uncover the truth behind the rumored scandal was just beginning, and she knew she had to tread carefully.

Later that evening, as Sahiba sat at her desk, she reflected on the day's events. Her mind raced with thoughts of Angad, Mirza, and the complex web of corporate dynamics she was now a part of. She had to stay focused and remember her purpose. But as she thought of Angad's piercing eyes and the warmth in his rare smile, she couldn't help but feel a growing connection—a connection that could complicate everything.

Her phone buzzed, interrupting her thoughts. It was a message from her editor.

"How's it going? Any leads yet?"

Sahiba typed a quick response. "It's going well. I have a front-row seat to the company's operations. Will keep you posted."

She put her phone down and leaned back in her chair, staring at the city lights outside her window. The real work was just beginning, and she was determined to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.

***

The next morning, Sahiba arrived early again, this time more confident in her steps. She headed straight to the marketing department, where Mirza greeted her with a friendly wave.

"Morning, Sahiba. Ready for another day of brainstorming?" Mirza asked, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

"Absolutely," Sahiba replied, returning his smile. "I've got a few ideas I want to run by the team."

As they settled into the meeting room, Angad made an unexpected appearance. He took a seat at the head of the table, his presence commanding attention.

"I thought I'd sit in on your session today," Angad announced, his eyes briefly locking with Sahiba's before scanning the room. "Let's see what fresh ideas you all have."

The session began with everyone sharing their thoughts and strategies. Sahiba noticed Angad's eyes frequently drifting towards her, especially when Mirza spoke directly to her.

"Sahiba, what do you think about integrating more interactive content on our social media platforms?" Mirza asked, leaning slightly closer to her.

"I think it's a great idea," Sahiba replied, feeling Angad's gaze on her. "Interactive content can significantly boost engagement and build a more loyal customer base."

"Exactly what I was thinking," Mirza said, smiling. "We should also consider hosting live Q&A sessions with our team. It could humanize our brand and make us more relatable."

Angad's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing slightly. "That's a good suggestion, Mirza. Sahiba, do you have any thoughts on who should host these sessions?"

Sahiba glanced at Mirza, then back at Angad. "I think it would be effective to have a mix of different team members, including some from the executive level. It would show a unified front and give customers insight into various aspects of the company."

"Agreed," Mirza chimed in. "And maybe we could start with you, Sahiba. You've already made quite an impression."

Sahiba blushed slightly. "I'd be happy to, if everyone thinks it's a good idea."

Angad's expression remained unreadable, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes—something Sahiba couldn't quite decipher.

"Let's table that for now," Angad said, his voice cool. "We have other priorities to focus on."

As the meeting continued, Sahiba couldn't shake the feeling that Angad's demeanor had shifted. There was an undercurrent of tension whenever Mirza spoke to her, and it was becoming increasingly noticeable.

After the session, Mirza walked Sahiba back to her desk. "You're doing great, Sahiba. Keep it up. We're lucky to have you."

"Thanks, Mirza. I'm really enjoying working with the team," Sahiba replied, genuinely grateful for his support.

As she sat down, she noticed Angad standing nearby, his eyes fixed on her and Mirza. He approached her desk, his expression unreadable.

"Sahiba, could you come to my office for a moment?" Angad asked, his tone neutral.

"Of course, Mr. Brar," Sahiba replied, following him to his office.

Once inside, Angad closed the door and turned to face her. "I wanted to discuss your role in the upcoming projects."

Sahiba nodded, sensing there was more he wanted to say.

"I need you to focus on the digital marketing strategy," Angad continued. "Your insights have been valuable, and I believe you can bring a fresh perspective to our approach."

"I'll give it my best, Mr. Brar," Sahiba replied, maintaining her professional demeanor.

Angad's eyes softened slightly. "I also want to ensure you're comfortable with the team. If there's anything you need or any concerns you have, you can come to me directly."

"Thank you, Mr. Brar. I appreciate that," Sahiba said, her heart beating a little faster.

As she left Angad's office, she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to his offer. Was it genuine concern for her well-being, or was there an underlying

jealousy towards Mirza? The lines between her professional and personal feelings were becoming increasingly blurred, and she knew she had to tread carefully.

Back at her desk, Sahiba's phone buzzed with a new message from her editor.

"Keep up the good work. Any signs of the scandal?"

Sahiba quickly replied, "Not yet, but I'm getting closer. Will keep you updated."

She put her phone away and glanced towards Angad's office. The real work was just beginning, and she had to stay focused. Uncovering the truth behind the corporate scandal was her primary goal, but navigating the complex dynamics at Brar Enterprises was proving to be more challenging than she had anticipated.
