Just when the actor and his friend were about to circulate a picture of the lost boy, they received a message informing them of his disappearance; they then took the teenager to the police

Taking a break from playing the usually serious scientist Krishnan Iyer on the popular television show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma, actor Tanuj Mahashabde played Good Samaritan to a lost teenager, and reunited him with his family. The boy, who was visiting his relatives in Malwani, had gone missing since January 3.

Mahashabde and his friend spotted the boy in Borivli. "Me and my friend Harsh Pancholi, were having falooda near Shanti Dham in Borivli (west) when we spotted this boy. He was constantly staring at me. From his body language, I gauged that he is mentally unstable. I offered him a sandwich from a nearby shop. My friend thought of clicking a picture of the boy on his mobile and circulating it on his social media group (since he looked lost)," said Mahashabde.

According to Mahashabde, by the time his friend tried to click a photo on his phone, the boy got scared and started to run away.

When Pancholi was posting the photo that he managed to get before the boy fled, he received a message about the boy who had been reported missing from Malwani. "It was sheer coincidence. We chased the boy and stopped him while he was trying to flee. I called on the number mentioned in the message and also informed the cops about him," the actor added. Later, Mahashabde took the boy to the MHB police station and handed him over to the cops.

Father is on his way

According to sources this boy, identified as Majbul Mallik, is from Kolkata and had come to Mumbai in December last year to his uncle's house in Malwani. On January 3, he left from home on the pretext of purchasing vegetables and never returned. His relatives had also filed a missing complaint at Malwani police station. The police have now informed his family in Kolkata. Majbul's father is on his way to take him to Kolkata.

"He was brought to Mumbai so he could learn some work and earn his livelihood. On January 3, he left home on the pretext of buying vegetables and had been missing since then. After searching for him for the entire day, we registered a complaint. We had also informed his family in Kolkata thinking he must have boarded a train to his hometown," said a relative of Majbul who had accompanied him to Mumbai. After his disappearance, his family members had also approached the reporter of a local newspaper, who helped them to circulate the message about Majbul being missing, on various groups.
