Remember Rita reporter on the show "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah"? The character, which comes off and on, on the show is played by Priya Ahuja Rajda. No, "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah" was not her first acting assignment. Having started making us laugh with comedy shows, Priya has scared us and even collected our curses as a negative character. In the part A of our conversation, she elaborated on her past work.
Was "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah" your first stint in acting?
#Priya_Ahuja_Rajda- No. I used to come on a show on Aaj Tak called "Aisi Ki Taisi" with Raju Shrivastav and others. Next I did a show called "Sabka Bheja Fry". I have done "Phir Koi Hai". I have done quite a lot of episodic work in serials like "Adalat" and "CID". I have also done "Zara", "Kumkum", etc. I have even done a negative role.
Priya models for ads too. But in part B of our conversation, she told us why she is on a sabbatical.
#Gayatri_T_Rao- What are your current projects?
#Priya_Ahuja_Rajda- I am not doing any projects at this moment. But I waiting for good roles. After doing the role of the reporter in "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah", people have been asking me to do similar roles in movies as well for a scene or two. I am looking for substantial roles.
In part C of our conversation, she spoke about how was it being married to Malav Rajda.
#Gayatri_T_Rao- How is it being married to the person who directed you in "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashmah"?
#Priya_Ahuja_Rajda- He would dominate me on the sets. I dominate him now. We are best friends. I am tell him whatever I want to. I am so comfortable with him. Usually, a wife will think again and again if she can tell something to her husband. I don't have to do that.
