I decided to skip the show till karna goes to dronacharya so can anyone give a short update?
Sure. I'll summarize the last few episodes.
Karna had been illustrating to Shon his archery skills by shooting an arrow across the river, having it rebound and knock off an apple which lands in Shon's hands. The general's son tells him that bows are supposed to be used by kshatriyas only. Shon challenges him to prove it by getting the apple landed in his hands. Whoever fails has to touch the other's feet.
The general arrives, and his son tells him about the challenge and concedes. The general says that the challenge is null & void, since Karna isn't allowed to touch a bow w/ his hands. Tauji Uchchyasena comes and tells him to use his feet, and Karna achieves that feat as well. Shon challenges the general's son to touch Karna's feet, but Karna tells him that there is no need to.
Later, some troops attack Adirath's home and capture Uchchyasena, despite Karna resisting. While he is tied up & Adhirath & Radha are pleading for his life, Karna arrives and using his bow & arrow shoots dead most of the troops, excepting the general. Later, the general arrives w/ more troops and surrounds them. Karna begs them to spare Uchchyasena, promising not to touch an arrow if they agree.
The general asks Uchchyasena to pick up the bow that Karna has tossed to the ground, and then cuts off his hand π‘ He then sets fire to Adhirath's home. Back at home, Radha is livid at Karna and orders him to shoot her dead. Karna weeps & begs for forgiveness, and Radha orders him to break his bow w/ an axe. Karna obeys, much to the shock of Uchchyasena, Adhirath & Shon.
Adhirath then tells Radha & Shon to pack their belongings, as they are leaving. The general intercepts them again and asks them whose permission they took? Adhirath asks him for permission, and the general says that everybody would have to individually ask them for permission. Radha & Shon too beg for permission, and are granted. Uchchyasena tells him he's not from here, and so doesn't need permission: the general tells him that he's expelled from there. It's Karna's turn, and he's ordered to touch the feet of the general. Karna tells him that he'll always touch his feet - whether the general is on a horse or a throne or a pyre π
They all leave and reach a vaid, who cures Uchchyasena, and advises rest. Following that, they continue to Hastinapur (!) On the way, the chariot wheel sinks and Karna pulls it out (Like βοΈB, this serial too seems to enjoy having Karna pull wheels out of the pits on multiple occasions.) Karna asks them why they were being punished like this, and who wrote the rules that if a suta touches a bow, his hands would be cut off? Adhirath says that it's society (actually, it was Manu). Karna asks that if tomorrow, they made a new rule that a suta couldn't touch a horse, what would happen to them?
Adhirath tells them that they are going to Hastinapur, and Karna asks whether they'll meet Maharani Kunti again Adhirath tells him that Kunti is no longer the queen, but in exile (it's unclear whether Pandu is still alive. He better not be whenever Karna meets Drona). Uchchyasena, Karna & Shon have some light moments, and even Radha is happy seeing them happy.
Finally, at one point in the forest, an arrow from a blowpipe π€ͺ flies through the air, and Karna, seeing it, starts chasing it. The arrow pierces Radha above her breast, and she falls. The rest of the family quickly go to her rescue. Soon, the place is swarming w/ adivasis/savages, and the episode ends w/ them all surrounding these 5.
Precap: Karna begs Suryadev to give him all the pains of Radha. Radha is on a rack, while the adivasis prepare to 'execute' her. Karna is hesitant on what to do, while Uchchyasena screams at him demanding that he use a bow that is lying nearby (and break his vow).
