Aditya Redij, best remembered as Raghav of 'Naa Aana Iss Des Laado', might have been out of action after he quit Bandhan due to 'generation leap', but now he's back in a completely new avatar in and as 'Suryaputra Karna'. Aditya confesses that he took a break, as "I have always ensured to take some time off after wrapping up a project. It is essential for me because I prefer wiping off the last image and return on small screen with a new role and a new image." He was in town recently on a promotional tour. As he came and shook hand, we spotted an injury on his right palm which he got "during stunt rehearsals for the show," says Aditya. Excerpts from a chat:

Gujarat Connect My mom's Gujarati and dad is Marathi - so that makes me half Gujarati! I totally enjoy Gujarati food made by mom. Trying out Gujarati food is definitely not the agenda when I'm here. But, I really enjoyed to get an overview of Ahmedabad city - it's got a modern look with its traditional vibe intact.

Mythological Hues I met Siddharth Tewari during Bandhan and post that stint; we got chatty about Suryaputra Karna. I was keen on playing a young character because many show-makers approached me to play a father's character as they spotted me in Bandhan. I wasn't keen on getting stereotyped. At the same time, I got interested in Karna because I have never done a mythological show before. The good partg about this show is - people will get to see Mahabharata from Karna's perspective. I've started reading Shivaji Sawant's 'Mrutyunjay' for better understanding of this role. I know I'll be compared to Pankaj Dheer who'd played Karna in BR Chopra's 'Mahabharata', but, since this is a completely new approach, people will get to see a different view of Karna. I've been doing a lot of stunts for this show.

Movie Talks I have done a Marathi movie in the past. But, post that nothing interesting has come my way. Also, since TV happened to me, I have been focusing myself on television. But yes, I am open to doing movies if something exciting lands up.

My Real World It's been a wonderful time for me and Natasha (Sharma) post marriage. Life has changed for good with it. We are thinking of starting a family. Apart from acting, many tell me that I should opt for production or direction as I am always curious about the technicalities of production. Although I'm an actor, I don't watch much television myself. I restrict myself to essentials like news, sports or musical shows like 'Indian Idol'. I can't give up my workout regime - which I am very particular about. Also, I enjoy singing - it's a quality I have inherited from dad. I'd love to be part of a music based reality show some day!

i just cant believe the way the producer replaced adi...
and i cant believe that gautam accepted this assignment when he knew that someone else was treated in such a shabby manner, a fellow actor. there has to be some professional ethics. i liked gautam. i am surprised.
