Sony's Crime Thriller Surya - The Super Cop produced by BP Singh of CID may be burdened by the same investigating stories, poor narrative skills, unimpressive character sketches and same suspense tracks, But the show has potential for entertaining the audience especially to those who are not interested in watching IPL.
Surya is a story of a suspended police officer Surya who has lost his eyes, but his brains works like radar and within few minutes on mere information, he can track and crack any case with his intelligence. Others to play part in solving the cases are three investigating teams of Crime Unit, alongwith their chief and a Corrupt Cop who disturbs the investigations in between.
Surya The Super Cop is the first crime based show to be made a daily in the history of Indian Television. The show is comprised of only 32 episodes and will wind up in May. The show has its share of flaws, yet it doesn't fail in entertaining given the fact its a daily instead of a weekly like CID.
Coming to Performances, Its Harsh Chhaya's show totally. He is an apt for the part of Surya and carries it with sincere responsibility. As a Blind Man, He ensures that he can work wonders. Amongst others, its Priyanka Bassi (Kaya) who stands out, her performance will surely applauded by the ones who had appreciated her action avatar in Left Right Left earlier. This is just an added feather in her cap. Apart from her, Mohit Malik (Amit) and Karan Mehra (Rajhans) Performs well too. Actor Vinay Apte is good as the corrupt cop Dushyant whereas Actor Nagesh provide some funny moments.
All in all Surya The Super Cop might not be the best product but certainly, its a refreshing breeze from the daily monotonous, overdramatic and extremely boring daily soaps.
