For Arunita, since their objective was to promote somebody else at her expense (we know who) they did a lot to create trouble for her. For one thing, she kept getting repeat songs of the ones others had performed earlier, so that there was an unconscious bias towards the first performance. However, she is so far ahead of the others that when she sang the previous performance was forgotten altogether and now the audience only remembers her performance. Secondly, they made life difficult for her by changing her songs. In Idol, they have a 7 day schedule as follows: Wednesday the songs are assigned, Thursday and Friday is for self practice and setting with the band, Saturday is for final setting with the band, Sunday for technical rehearsals, Monday - Tuesday for the shoot. This is a set schedule that gives 5 clear days for the contestant to practice and get comfortable. For Arunita, her mother has gone on record stating that they have often changed her song assignment 1 day before the shoot. That means in that 1 day she has to practice, get the nuances, finalize the setting with the band, and go straight to the rehearsal and shoot. And yet, she being who she is, she unfailingly hit the ball out of the park.
So... long post, but the summary is that the way TCT / Neeraj Kalkar and team work is that they have their biases and their favourites, and they go out of their way to make life difficult for others.

I donât understand the logic behind this. Granted they want a winner capable of drawing the crowds for stage shows. Whether it is talent, beauty, grace or overall personality, Aru met all the criteria. In fact the equation regarding the concert business wonât change if it was the other way around - Aru winner & PD runner-up. Plus they couldâve touted on getting a female winner after so many years!
Now, if they wanted to play to the gallery, the voting wouldâve taken care of it, since Pawan had more followers than Aru. So either way, what purpose was served by these antics?
Sorry, didnât want to initiate a discussion on Idol 12 here, but was just curious after learning this.
For some reason this Neeraj Kalkar doesnât like arunita or something. Was obvious in II12.
In SS2 look at songs given to Faiz, He knows Faiz is better Singer than other boys. Sayantani eliminated, Rohan given entertainment rather than seriously trained singing. Foul play once again.
Before finale, wouldnât be surprised arunita left with Faiz only or no one. đĄ If Faiz in top 5, they will not even make him a runner up, let alone a winner.
Otherwise strong competition between Sayisha and Faiz in finale. My opinion

I never expected Rohan or Sayantani to make it to Top 6. And probably no one from Sayli's team.

That was Sayli rather than PD. They always promoted her more, gave her more air time, gave prominence to her parents and her back story, etc. Even gave her the title "Bharat ki beti". They also use subtle things like when that director (Onir?) was doing the sketch of SMP they had Sayli's parents sitting in the background not SMP's.
This song changing was mentioned by Arunita's mother in one of the interviews.
