Rahul of Suno Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai asked to grow stubble to look mature

Grow up and grow stubble! That's what Romit Raj was told. The actor who plays Rahul in Sahara One's Suno Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai was actually asked to grow stubble simply because his 'natural looks didn't suit the character he played.' Apparently he didn't look as mature as the character.

It seems that he almost lost his job and was supposed to be replaced. Then someone came up with the idea of the stubble. It seemed fine and a few 'look-tests' later, the little lad grew was a young man.

When asked about the story, Raj confirmed and said: "I generally maintain a clean shaven look. Even when I had gone to audition for Suno… I sported a clean shaven look. Although the production guys liked me in my natural look, they wanted me to look older to suit Niyati Joshi (the female lead)."

Incidentally, this is not the first time when he was asked to grow a beard. "I recently completed shooting for Gautam Ghosh's Yatra where I play Nana Patekar's son. In this film too, I maintained a stubble to look macho and to look Nana's son."

"I am quite okay with it… it saves a lot of time in the mornings. And besides, it's also quite a rage with male actors these days," he quips.
