She romanced the likes of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar on the big screen a few years ago. Later like many other actresses of her time, Sheeba settled down into marital bliss. But as they say, once an actor always an actor. The doe-eyed actress is back once again, although this time, it's on the small screen. Viewers may recall seeing her in the serial Karishma three years back and Sheeba can be seen in Sujata these days, as the career-minded, single woman Roshni. So what prompted her to get back into showbiz once again? "Primarily, I was lured by the role that was really interesting. I liked the concept of the show. Everything just fell into place," says Sheeba. After Karishma, the actress received plenty of offers to act in television but Sheeba says nothing appealed to her enough. "I have a mental block against regressive saas-bahu roles. Also, sometimes the money wasn't right, at times the roles weren't great," she says. And Sheeba wasn't willing to return to acting at the cost of her family. "My kids are my priority now, so I didn't want to take up anything that wasn't worth giving up my time with them," she clarifies. But the actress has been busy these years. "I was with my kids, working out, meeting friends. It's all been very rewarding," she says with a smile. Apart from this show, Sheeba's also doing a Bhojpuri film with Shatrughan Sinha. "I have been saying no to regional films for years now but this one appealed to me," she says. Hindi film offers are also coming in and Sheeba hints that she might be soon be acting in one. But she is very well aware that she won't be given lead roles now. "I'm quite realistic about these things. I can't be wearing mini skirts and dancing around trees again! Neither is it going to suit me nor is it going to gel with my mentality. But for sure I would like to do roles with substance," she says. Sheeba's happy that actresses in her agebracket are being given meaningful roles. "This is the perfect time. All interesting roles are being written for actresses in my age-bracket," she adds.
