The IPl grand entertainment finale in Mumbai was a bit of a let-down. With the exception of Salman, none of the top stars performed here. So Shamita Shetty, Amrita Arora and Dia Mirza got an opportunity to showcase their dancing skills. Looks like these three actresses survive purely by doing such shows since their Bollywood careers don't seem to be heading anywhere. But why was Salman Khan suited and booted in the blistering Mumbai heat? Not only, did he look out of place, but obviously couldn't dance in formal attire. The actor went all out to promote his show, Dus Ka Dum, which was aired on Friday. The promotional number was rather catchy but Sallu fans who were expecting the actor to take off his shirt were in for a disappointment. Wonder, whether the presence of various high-profile politicos had anything to do with his 'good boy' act? While the nail-biting final has been discussed enough, IPL fans seem to be suffering from a cricket hangover. Many who had planned their evenings around these matches are suddenly feeling a sense of loss. One thing's for sure, that IPL format is a big hit and is here to stay. Getting back to the world of soaps, Babul Ka Aangan Chote Na, has progressed from the ridiculous to the bizarre. All of sudden the plot is like the movie Race, has so many needless twists and turns that it leaves the viewer completely muddled. It's obvious that the channel is desperate to increase TRPs and has therefore resorted to the 'suspense formula' gimmick. Unfortunately, it is not working. On a positive note, the BR Chopra production, Sujata, is shaping up well after a regressive start. The protagonist, continues to remain a doormat but with the advent of a possible love interest in the form of Parmeet Sethi — who also livens up the serial — there is bound to be a shift in emotions. At any rate, it was getting rather tiresome to watch a grouchy and sullen Aman Verma every single day. |
