How safe is Mumbai?
|
UTV's weekly show, Special Squad (Star One), has lined up a four-part series, Mumbai Unsafe, from tonight which will air every Monday at 9.30 pm.
The Special Squad team led by Aryan (Bhanu Uday) is an elite squad of crime fighters attached to the police department. Now, it is all set to take on the most devious of crimes reported in the city.
According to Ravi Menon, programming head, Star One, 'Special Squad chooses subjects and solves cases which our viewers can associate with easily. Mumbai Unsafe is another step in that direction.'
Tonight's episode will have the Special Squad called in to investigate a bizarre killing concerning two famous encounter specialists who kill an underworld gang member. The case becomes contentious when they discover a cop lying injured inside the gangster's hideout.
In the March 28 episode, the Special Squad is called to investigate a bizarre murder that has happened in the flat of a prime accused in the stamp paper scam. Though the flat has been under care of the Special Investigation Team, the watchman is found murdered inside the flat.
On April 4, the Special Squad has a case of an infant being exchanged from a hospital. While in the April 11 episode an actress is found dead in her flat. Did she commit suicide or was it a murder?
Incidentally, in January, the Special Squad had the recent MMS case in which a New Delhi schoolboy indulged in sex with a female classmate, recorded it on his mobile phone camera and circulated it in the form of MMS being dramatised for the small screen.
