MMS sex clip drama retold By: A hitList Correspondent January 17, 2005
Special Squad has an MMS clip to unearth
The recent MMS case in which a New Delhi schoolboy indulged in sex with a schoolgirl, recorded it on his phone camera and circulated it in the form of MMS, is being dramatised for the small screen.
The serial Special Squad (Star One), in which an elite squad of crime fighters — attached to the police department — take on the most devious, kinky and deadliest of crimes, now has an MMS sex clip case to unravel.
In this UTV show's special episode at 10 pm today, the detectives take up the recent controversy of the two school children in the mobile sex scandal, now known as the MMS scandal.
Bhanu Uday who plays Aryan in Special Squad
The drama has an officer in the excise department, the single parent of a teenage daughter studying in a posh school. He gets a jolt when he sees an MMS video clip of two teenagers kissing on his daughter's phone, sent to her moments ago.
What is worse is that the teenage girl in the video is his own daughter. He is shattered but still manages to muster up courage and takes the MMS clip to Aryan at Special Squad.
According to Bhanu Uday, who plays the role of Aryan, this episode is indeed special. "We are taking on a case which is still fresh in people's minds. Even though the drama has been fictionalised for television, what's shocking are the conclusions we draw from the case."
As Aryan and his team set down to crack how the MMS originated, they realise it started with a prepaid mobile number, purchased giving a fake address.
The boy in the clip has left for the US. There is not much that Special Squad has in terms of leads.
Suddenly, one of the officers from the Squad discovers that the CDs of the same MMS clip are for sale on the Net. She decides to buy a CD off the Net to know whether they can get some leads from there.
The case is not just a simple one of a private MMS sent to many people, but also involves the issue of the Internet po*nography industry, which is a very close-guarded business.
