| Ashish Mitra Star One which positions itself as a youth channel has conceptualised many of its shows with the male as the lead protagonist. At an informal gathering Screen met five of the leading men: Vinod Sherawat of Bluff Master, Sachin Tyagi of Family Business, Pawan Shankar of Siddhanth, Bhanu Uday of Special Squad and Gaurav Chanana of Hey Yehii To Haii Woh!!! who spoke about their new shows. Vinod Sherawat who had earlier acted in Josh and Kanyadan anchors Bluff Master, the game show that exposes the ability of the players to cheat, lie and deceive in order to win a large sum of money! A simple but irresistible game show where six contestants compete through five rounds of interesting questions previously surveyed by the public. One of the six is the bluff master who is secretly fed with all the answers. The show, an adaptation of the successful International show, Dirty Rotten Cheaters, revolves around how the other five contestants as well as the audience find out who the bluff master is.The show will also feature high profile Page-3 celebrities in special episodes. Telecast every Friday at 8 p.m. An arts graduate with English honors, Bhanu Uday had earlier been into theatre having worked under directors like Nadira Babbar, Anjala Maharishi, Ram Gopal Bajaj, Rob Cheare and Anuradha Kapoor. He plays Aryan in Special Squad that is an elite squad of crime fighters created by the Commissioner of Police. Dedicated to fighting crime, the Special Squad is modern and absolutely incorruptible. These super- efficient detectives take on the most devious wily, kinky and deadliest criminals. Propelled by cutting edge forensic detection, Special Squad solves crimes that are ingeniously designed, meticulously planned and brilliantly executed. The first of its kind on forensic detection on Indian television. Telecast: Every Monday at 10 p.m. A music enthusiast basically, Sachin Tyagi stars in Family Business. The serial is essentially a drama set in a modern Indian 'mafia' family. A gentle, Harvard educated stockbroker, Jai, is told to take over the 'family business' when his Dadaji is on his deathbed.It is a story of Jai's trials and tribulations while trying to take on the mantle of the biggest don (his dadaji) at a moment's notice. Telecast: Every Friday at 10 p.m. An unusual story as far as general Hindi TV entertainment goes is the law series Siddhanth. Pawan Shankar who is a trained actor from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Lab and has also taken lessons in dancing from Saroj Khan plays Siddhanth. A compelling tale of a hero in search of redemption, the show focuses on Siddhanth Mehra, a successful lawyer and his never-ending need for a hefty bank balance that overrules his pangs of conscience. Relationships, love, bonding, empathy, trust and above all, ethics have for long been removed from his path to accommodate his single-minded dedication to his career, until, one day he is forced to redefine his existence after a traumatizing incident that shakes his principles, beliefs and equations in life. Telecast: Every Wednesday at 10 p.m. Having made his debut in Love Mein Kabhi Kabhi, aired on SAB TV, Gaurav bagged a plum role in Sanjivani as the main lead. He quit the serial after a few episodes to pursue a film career. However, his film debut in Vijaypath Singhania's Woh Tera Naam Tha didn't do anything to his career and now he is back with Hey...Yehii To Hai Who!. The serial is the story of lookalikes Sameer and Raj who come from two different backgrounds and live totally divergent lives. Sameer, working as a waiter is flamboyant, very street-smart and always dreams big. Raj, on the other hand is an extremely rich businessman and is on the board of directors of a 2000 crore company.
