Ok so there is a baiga tribe in which lskshman is the hero of the epic and the ramayan revolves around his adventures .

He is known as lacchaman there

Its there way of interpretation

The adventures involve all the struggle of lakshman thst is actually faced by the tribe in day to day life .

Also since the tribe follows a matrilineal system the male fidelity is important and so instead of sita , lakshman had to give a test to prove his purity .
