Real life jodi turns reel couple

Sharad Kelkar as Rudra in Sinndoor In real life, they tied the knot on June 3. However, on the small screen, Sharad Kelkar will soon be seen with real-life wife Keerti in Zee's Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka. Says Sharad, "I am playing the role of Rudra, who enters Niharika's (Keerti) family. He is a real tough guy, not only in looks, but also in person. His background is that of a simple guy from a village." Niharika will be shown drowning in a lake, unable to swim and protect herself. Rudra jumps in the water and saves her from drowning. Taking the story forward, it will be shown that Rudra is the illegitimate son of the family. Niharika finds out and decides to join hands with him to take revenge. "Rudra is romantically inclined towards Niharika, but she doesn't feel the same about him at first," Sharad says. Keerti with Sharad Kelkar On the experience of working with his wife, he says, "It's great to work with Keerti. I used to get a little upset that she hardly had any time for me since she's doing three dailies. But now I am happy that I get to be with her on the Sinndoor set." The actor however admits there are times when it's difficult to work together. "You have to switch on and off from the reality. But on the whole, it's a great experience." Kelkar has done a couple of television soaps in the past and also acted in a film. This is his first major television role.
