Hey everyone! 😊
So,the promos of this show really intrigued me, because I feel it brought to light an issue which is quite relevant in today's society.
So often, we have seen TV shows where the dragon MIL is pitted against the bechaari DIL in a war for the son/husband's affection. I was shocked to see that two women who I had childishly thought would be natural allies fought like snake and mongoose.
A lot of shows depict unhealthy and codependent relationships between mother-sons and actually glorify them. Here comes a show which seems to instead depict it for what it really is- a suffocating relationship that prevents a person from growing.
I always wondered why MILs and DILs are shown competing on TV serials, when no such animosity exists between FILs and SILs. I mean, when have you seen a girl's father fighting with his SIL for his daughter? 😆
Why is that women are pitted against each other like this, as if a man can only love one or the other?
Also, isn't it kind of sick? Mothers competing with their sons' wives? I mean, they occupy two completely different positions in his life and any kind of competition seems perverse. After all, a mother would not want to be his wife and the wife would not want to be his mother.
What do you guys think of how this situation showcases itself in society? To what extent do mothers like this exist- who want their sons to be 5 forever? Why is the same treatment not extended to daughters?
From what I can see of Raunak AKA the son, he seems a spineless robot who can't tell left from right and will simply nod his head to whatever his mother says. He will stand by while his wife is insulted and have no problems with being his mother's baby while pushing 30.
What say?
