actually shobnas father was elder and he should be real king but due to his handicapped ness the crown was given to her dada so in real shobna was princess but not chjaula and zee even mentioned abt chaula in their face book wall that she is the cousin of shobna and they both are good friends

what we all must understand is that what history we have been made to read has been modified and remodified by the rulers-mostly invaders like khiljis, britishers since we were under a long rule by many invaders.so genuine history is a question. But what i am happy is that atleast some unsung heroes forgotten in the indian history can be seen through such serials-its really awe inspiring when we watch little shobha and her daring antics.

I've got the book Somnath by Acharya chatursen Shastri- The show SSK is based on this story, as per the title credit appearing in the begining of SSK. As per this book, Shobhna was a balvidhva, brahmin girl, her father Krishna Swami one of the adhikari in Somnath temple. Chaula was, chief dancer Ganga's daughter, later revealed to be Dadda Chalukya's daughter. Later on Shabhna lives with Chaula as her close friend.

Bhimdev had 3 wives, Udaymati, BAkuladevi(Chauladevi), 3rd name is unknown, he had 3 sons, Mulraj, Kshemraj(Chaula), Karna(Udaymati)
As per this book,Dadda Chalukya used to believe a lot on Rudrabhadra, he got a son, due to his blessings. Dadda chalukya got Bharucha's Kingdom due to Rudrabhadra's blessings, he gave his first daughter Chaula to Godess Tripursundari on Rudrabhadra's advice, but Gang Sarvagya interfered & she was given to God Somnath, as a result Rudrabhadra was very angry.
This book was written after Munsi's Jay Somnath. C.Shasti has added more incidents in Somnath. Munshi & Shastri both have written history based novels. But Shobhna as a princess is not mentioned even in this book.

yea there may not be any reference, but myths are usually based on some truth, and the history from the early 1000s is not recorded well in Bharat...after all history is written by the victors, and so thats why there is not a lot to go by...πŸ˜‰

Even I am feeling the same, with so much of unheard & unread, shown in the show, it doesn't look like history but modified history to make this show, sometimes can't connect to it. Taking so much liberty with sensetive historic incidents hurts sometimes as a viewer.
