Like all of us here, I also absolutely love Shaurya because of his hidden emotions which shows in his eyes. KV is more than perfect in playing the role of Shaurya Sabharwal.

The best KV comes out in his scenes with Astha. I just keep staring at my screen when these two comes together. Shaurya's naked longing for his mother, KV shows it soo beautifully.

When He went to meet Astha in hospital

When Astha came to see Anokhi in hosptal

When he came to appologise to Anokhi.

Those are my absolutely favourite scenes. This guy can portray angst just with his eyes.❤️

In today's episode his desperation in the library was soo real. I don't know why it is not being talked as much as it deserved. But Shaurya was soo good in this scene. He was so uncomfortable in feeling whatever he is feeling. Getting attached to his student. Damn perfect.👏

P.S. I just lovee these pics. Can't stop staring at them.

You r abs right! Those are some highlight moments.

So was this:

Image

just look at that intensity!

I thing that library scene is the most underrated scene on IF! I abs loved it and I could totally relate with his panic and uneasiness!

Even today the confusion and awkwardness during the library scene made it seem so real. I have had friends who were just as confused about their feelings. He just seems real to me and not some cardboard cut out type ML.

Such a well-written post and the images just add to its charm. Loved reading it. Thank you 🌼

Yep! He is a complicated character and I love how they are slowly and steadily moving his journey as a person experiencing different emotions!

Thank you for reading!

I'm a big fan of character analysis and you do such a great job at it. I hope you do one for Anokhi too.

Thank you so much! I will do one asap 😃

I really wrote off Shaurya initially for his MCP-ness. His introduction didn't help with my assessment. But his confrontation with Aastha and his longing looks towards his mother really made me get in his corner.

TBH, I judged the book by the cover too! when I watched the first promo b4 the show began, I was disgusted and I literally said- Here comes another MCP who is gonna tame a wild girl . But then I saw a clip on insta and checked it out on hotstar... I was blown away with SHaurya!!! 😲 He was not a MCP at all and in fact he is barely a misogynist. There are surely some specks of misogyny but not completely!

I think we can all agree that anything we dislike in Shaurya is really rooted in those abandonment issues. He has such a want and need to be loved completely and honestly because of how incomplete his other relationships are. I really like your assessment on his nonchalant behavior. He really does go through life wearing a façade of smile and khadoos-ness.

He is a loner and thinks will forever be one 🥺

His anger is so explosive when his expectations aren't met. It's so true that anger is the only way he knows how to express all his other feelings.

I've noticed he also doesn't get angry with everyone; only those he has some expectations from. Even with everything, he expects something from Aastha and Shaan, so when they "disappoint" him, he just explodes. And somehow that has also spilled over onto Anokhi.

I don't think this has much to do with them disappointing him, I think it has more to do with the feeling of belonging. His expectation from these people are to be understood by them. Somehow he wants them to be there for him and understand what is he trying to say. Astha and Shaan disappointed him, sometimes even Anokhi misunderstands him so it frustrates him.

In front of the other Sabherwals, he's so suave. He never gets emotional with them. That ehsaan really does weigh on him, so he spends more effort trying to meet their expectations than have them meet his.

As I said.... He doesnt expect them to actually be there for him.

I loved this dialogue. It's the crux of his personality. He has feelings, but he just doesn't know how to honestly express them. He doesn't go through life being his genuine self.

Exactly!

His panic is really captured well in the scenes you mentioned. He's so scared of disappointing them, but he also wants to be true to his conscience. I'm glad his conscience wins every time(so far).

I hope his conscience continues to guide him... Coz Devi seems to know how to stir him.

There's been a lot of conversation around his "love" for Anokhi. Many have already pointed out that that he really likes her character and how she makes him feel. He really just wants to be understood. He wants to take down the mask and be his genuine self. His description for a life partner was so cute. It all sounded so great and should be something every mother wants for their child, except Devi Sabherwal can't handle the girl who fits the description :-)

I'm with you on this!!! like soooo much! That change in expression as soon as he remembered Anokhi and the protein bar......swoon!

That aankhon mein nami....hayye!

This restlessness during this whole monologue :-)

That whole conversation is their modus operandi. They don't do cutesy for long. Their fights are how they express themselves. I like that love language. It's frustrating to some viewers, but I love it!

It is important for these two to fight... Coz fights frustrate them 😆

This whole scene was done sooooo well. And really gave us that glimpse of the abandoned child. These are the feelings he keeps within himself and goes about his day. How has 25 years of this not broken him as a man?

I was heartbroken to watch this scene 😭

He does brooding really well. I can't wait to see the loving guy as well. I wasn't sure initially if Shaurya could go from the stern professor to the lover boy. But seeing the slow evolution has been great!

He is in for rollercoaster ride! 😆

🥳This is very well written! I really appreciate the time and effort you've put into it. Also hope you finished your assignment!

Thank you once again!

I did finish it on time! 😃 Like an hour b4 the deadline 👍🏼

Finally I am here to unres smiley42 I knew you needed to let it out because that's important! Varna seriously kahi aur dimaag nahi lagta smiley37 I am so glad I told u to write smiley42

😃😃😃 We know how bad it itches your palm!

Yes, the mystery he has to his character is very appealing! smiley27

That is so true.. I could see his emotions when he saw the mother-son due feeding each other near a stall. I think that expressed how much he craved for his mother all this while smiley28

Arrey... I have a mummy but woh scene dekhe mujhe laga meri bhi mummy nahi hai 🥺 I was completely in that zone with him!

He is seriously so good with expressing his panic. When crash landed in front of Ahir's car to persuade Anokhi to stay, he looked so determined but as soon as she shut him off and told him that she is leaving anyway and will not go with him, you should see how his expression changed to panic. KV is amazing smiley32

I would have been very 😕 if he would have been happy and jumpy about falling in love... But makers and KV thankfully showed his anxiety which is very real for some who go through this!

I really adored this line a lot ... he needs someone with whom he can be totally honest! I can already see that happening with Ano.

She is the one for him!

Seriously yaar.... how does he do it so well! He might be analyzing Shaurya all do to understand his emotions so well!

I think he understand every scene and imagines it all in his head! Itna perfect koi on spot kaise ho sakta hai His talent is 👏

I was just talking about this scene above...

It is a great post Akshu.. you really did bang on analysis of his character and KV as an actor as well.

Are you a psychology student ? smiley1smiley37

Thank you Rimi! ❤️❤️

You know that I am not 😆 But what you might not know is that I wanted to be one... I wanted to become a psychiatrist but NEET score itni nahi mili 🤣

I had to pen this down because I have been dying to get it out of my system. Thank you, Rimiya for that nudge because I was actually in two minds because I really need to write this assignment that is open on the other window... But I know, I wont be able to concentrate until I write this.

NOTE: This is my POV on Shaurya Sabherwal.

The reason I got glued to SAAKK was purely because the first time I saw Shaurya on screen, I just knew that he is a man with many secrets buried inside him. That pain and angst he carries inside him was out in the open when Anokhi gate-crashed his life. Quite literally.

I have a thing for analyzing the psychological behaviors of the characters and specifically the MLs of the shows I really like. (P.S. I am not a psychologist. LOL)

And the first thing that screamed off Shaurya's behavior was- ABANDONMENT ISSUES.

There is obviously a lot of anger. Which he does not always let off. But he gets all confused with his feelings and it just bursts out after it gets too much. Yet, Shaurya Sabherwal always puts up with everything while carrying a smile on his face and behaving nonchalant.

He was never really given a healthy space and neither did he ever have a confidant to actually sit down and share his feelings with. Which is why he does not know how to express what he is really feeling.

He is emotionally handicapped.

His pain, jealousy, frustration, confusion, disappointment, guilt every emotion he feels, comes out in the only form he knows to openly express.

Anger.

Image

As I watched his interactions with Aastha, Anokhi and Shaan, later on with rest of the family... I realized that this guy is so good at faking his emotions. He never lets people see through him. Specially when it concerns Aastha, Devi and Tej. He is too guarded.

With Aastha, it is the yearning of motherly love which he will never admit.

With Devi and Tej, it's the weight of their 'EHSAAN' that makes him so subdued in front of them.

Shaurya has always pretended in front of them... While Aastha is able to grasp it at some instances, Devi and Tej are not. He pretends not because he does not trust them, but because he has been taught to pretend.

Devi's "Mat socho" has given Shaurya the sweep-under-the-rug attitude which does show up occasionally not only while dealing with his emotions but also while dealing with situational problems.

Coming to the main point of this post, I want to applaud KV for doing so well with Shaurya's mental state when it comes down to finally dealing with the emotions that he harbors. The character is obviously very well written and KV is doing absolutely brilliant by adding his own nuances.

Because he avoids them for as long as he can, but when he cannot anymore... The first reaction is panic! Because he knows that the feelings he does not want to show (force of habit to hold back), will now pour out (because there is no other way).

Then came his spot on dialogue that tells Anokhi all about his personality👏

Image

"Zaruri nahi ki jo mai feel karu woh mai keh bhi pau...

Sometimes people just need to understand."

At that moment, it was of utmost importance to say sorry. But in general, she was made aware of the kind of person he is...

A man of few words. Specially when it comes to communicating his feelings. 🤗

His words have already hurt her... Now, he would not want his apology to come out in a similar manner...

We have already spoken a lot about his people pleasing behavior but I want to highlight that moment when he physically panicked and showed his हड़बड़ाहट when Tej, Devi and Alok accused him of challenging his authority.

It was in this moment, my heart completely broke to see him try to explain his actions that were completely just and righteous to people who know that he can be manipulated by such words.

Last night, I read a thread on twitter by @coolgal270 and quoting her "No parent should make their child feel indebt for raising them"

And the fact that he feels so burdened by their 'goodness' and 'greatness' was so evident here:

have been a fan of KV's eyes!! They express the emotions his words cannot. This talent in him makes the scene so real!! I love watching Shaurya get sentimental about something.

His eyes speak volume ❤️

The confusion and बेचैनी is so well conveyed here!

He might not say it or show it to them, but he feels SUFFOCATED. And it is on his face every time he is around Devi or Tej.

Image

There was a similar look on his face when Tej yelled "Shaurya!" when he called the board's decision to rusticate Anokhi as unfair. He fears disappointing them.

Shaurya needs someone who will NOT IMPOSE the feeling of being grateful. He needs someone who will not make him feel guilty about things he has no control over.

And that person is Anokhi Bhalla. 🥳

He finally said what we have all been discussing everywhere.

"Jisko honestly mai apni dil ki baat keh saku,

Aur utni hi honestly woh meri baat samajh bhi jaye.."

Anokhi makes him comfortable enough to keep his own skin in her presence. He knows that she understands him. Even when he is angry, she hears him out.

He feels free to behave like his true self without being apologetic.

Not because he said sorry to her... But because for the first time, he said sorry to someone when he genuinely meant it from the bottom of his heart and he could express it in a genuine way.

For the first time, his feelings came out in their actual form without converting into anger somewhere mid-way. And it was for Anokhi.

With the rest, he remains formal. But for her, there are not boundaries....

That moment when he realized what he actually feels for her was so mesmerizing!

Image

Look at that आंखों में नमी

From the moment I started watching the show, I have been a fan of KV's eyes!! They express the emotions his words cannot. This talent in him makes the scene so real!! I love watching Shaurya get sentimental about something.

Shaurya Sabherwal is experiencing feelings he has never felt before...❤️ It's a foreign territory and it is obvious that he is very uncomfortable with everything suddenly falling in its place. He finally has an answer to why he behaves so weird in front of Anokhi.

Again... That made me go aww on this guy!

"Aur aayega bhi nahi samajh! Bye!"

It was not just the fear of what she feels, it was also slight uncertainty of his own feelings... He is just starting find his way and he would like to know if she is on the same journey as him...

Shaurya needs to seek his humsafar...

(Please, this is not ACP wala humsafar, okay? 😆)

KV is sooo good with his craft that I can feel what Shaurya is feeling!

This is what drives me to watch him:

His emotions!

His expressions!!

And for the nth time...

His eyes!!!

Shaurya Sabherwal may be a man of few words but I can go on and on about him.

I mean... I sleep late and wake up early to watch this man create magic on the screen!

This does not mean that I don't appreciate Deba and her craft... One day, I shall write on her as well
