Saturdays officially have the best episodes of the week. Shakhi or not, content-wise, I felt this was better than the rest of the week. In this episode:
Shaurya: This man doesn't realize his mistake. Until Thursday, I felt it was realistic to have him not realize so soon. Realizations take time and redemption takes longer. However, seeing not a tad bit of self-realization from his side till now worries me. He assumes he is guilty and that's why he thinks about Anokhi 24/7. I feel it's just his blooming love. He doesn't want her to go nor he wants to go to SIAC Patiala. If he was indeed guilty, he would have stopped her, yes, but at the same time, he won't hesitate from going to Patiala. Sometimes I wonder if it is possible to love someone while misunderstanding the same person. Then I remind myself that this is ITV we are talking about. And like dude, if you are actually guilty, why don't you say sorry?
Credit where it's due: He acted like a true partner when he encouraged Anokhi to fight for herself. Isn't that what better halves do? When you lack confidence, they become your strength and show the right way. I was right. He didn't know she was accused of cheating until she told him. I loved that he trusted her immediately. He, who couldn't trust her in the beginning, now trusts her more than his sisters, bade papa and chachu. There were some teacherly instincts too. As a teacher, he knew who cheated and who did not. I appreciate Shaurya for defending Anokhi in front of his Bade Papa, who he considers his ideal. Though he has no say in front of this old man yet, I am glad he tried and won the first war. Now don't feel like it was not a complete win. Shaurya did say that rustication is not a punishment for cheating. Let's assume Anokhi cheated. The teacher could fail her, but not rusticate her according to rules. So even if they know that Kity-Bebo cheated, Shaurya can fail them but not rusticate them. As much as I dislike these two, rusticating them would be against SIAC rules and pretty much unfair to them. During the ragging track as well, Shaurya wanted to suspend them and rusticate Anmol. Tej agreed however when Anokhi said she doesn't want to ruin their career and thus will forgive them, he considered her words. I hope no one will say Shaurya is unfair now because he did try to follow the protocols back then. He tried to follow protocols now. If Anokhi didn't say the suspension was unnecessary, they would be suspended for a month and Anmol would be rusticated. Coming to the present, he will fail Kitty-Bebo in this exam. After this episode, I know Shaurya will not be a reflection of Shaan. He is neither blind nor scared. He knows his family is biased. Maybe he doesn't say anything because he doesn't want to risk being abandoned by them as he was abandoned by Shaan-Aastha. Post-marriage, I hope and believe that he will stand up for Anokhi (the right). As he said, "Main Anokhi ka saath nahi de raha hu. Main sahi ka saath de raha hu" And then he will also have a wife to go to so he should not fear being abandoned again.
Anokhi: "Sabke haq ke liye ladti rahti ho aur jab khud ki baari aye?" "Main thak chuki hu sir" She is clearly tired of fighting for herself with no fault of her own. I understand her. I would call it humane too. However, her inability to fight for herself could easily be seen as her weakness rather than a phase where a human feels low. I did like the way she shooed Ahir away. Shaurya needed to see this. Maybe he would sulk a bit less then. Our Anokhi knows when to interact with a person and when not to.
Tej: All he cares about is his family and SIAC's reputation. When Anokhi gave her interview, it was Tej who voted for her and granted her admission to SIAC. He knew she was a star student. Even during the ragging track, though with a sour mind, he did consider suspending Kitty-Bebo and rusticating Anmol as he was getting pressure from the ministry. Now that his nieces are accused and his family's reputation is at stake, he rusticates Anokhi. Devil ka pati evil hi hoga.
Shaan-Aastha: They had no say then, they have no say now. As Anokhi's teacher, Aastha could at least give a character certificate on her behalf. I know SIAC directors don't like her, but the least she could do was try. Shaan came there only to be silenced by Tej. One more reason why I think Shaurya does not equal to Shaan. Despite Tej's attempts for distractions, he put forth his argument and won it. Their son helped Anokhi more than they could in this case.
Alok: He can do whatever when he is alone, but as soon as Tej comes in front of him, he has no say. If I am not wrong, he wants Tej's chair. And what does he do for it? Tej hain to Alok hain. Tej na to Alok na. He looked like a rat in front of the lion. No wonder Tej is full of pride. No one speaks in front of him!
Ahir: I know this guy is sweet, but at the same time he feels unreal. When there was no official work, why would he come to pick her up at her college? I would understand if he was shown to have a crush on Anokhi, but that is not the case. In the previous episode, he was worried if she got into trouble. Well, a girl in India is harassed every 22 minutes. Why doesn't Ahir run after all of them?
Precap: As feared, Shaurya thinks that helping her was enough. We and Anokhi know it is not. A small thank you to CVs. Even I thought it would go the typical ITV way and Anokhi turns mahaan to forgive him. Thank god it is not. Ab Shaurya Anokhi ko kaise manaega?
Waiting to know your thoughts.
