It was a long wait of about 20 days before Vikas Bhalla could finally hold his month-old son Veer and sing him a lullaby.
The actor, who turned second-time daddy last month, literally travelled to the other end of the world to meet his son, who was born at the Markham Stoufville Hospital in Toronto.

Says Bhalla, "It was an ecstatic feeling to have Veer in my arms. I've been praying for a healthy baby, and with Veer around, I feel I have the most precious thing on earth. Though my wife and daughter gave me hourly reports over the phone, I was never really satisfied till I changed Veer's diaper with my own hands."
Son mobbed!
A freezing climate didn't deter the spirited father and his kids from taking a short trip, in and around Toronto.

The actor was mobbed by a group of Indians who were keen on getting a glimpse of his newborn son. "It looked like if my son had turned into a big star," he adds happily.

These days, the proud daddy wraps up shoots early, rushing home to change his son's diapers and play with him. "Of late, I've been singing all my new compositions to him. And he frowns at them!" |
