Hello there,

I think it would be safe to assume that I speak on behalf of all the die hard Shakti fans. First of all I must applaud the magnum opus you and your team have delivered in the name of Shakti Astitva Eik Ehsaas Ki. The cast and crew along with the creative team have given mind blowing performances successively. Wouldn't really like to name any one character as each and everyone of them has been important in weaving this elaborate tale and as the TRP's show it has been a resounding success.

I freely admit I have never watched any of your previous shows, tried to give Saath Nibhana a try but couldn't sit through the sob fest. In the age of Netflix and shows like Game of Thrones I have been pretty happy to see that some entertainment from the East manages to keep picky television fanatics like me entertained. I agree I started watching because of Vivian have been his fan for long but Rubina grew on me and now I love her equally.

Now for the plot, it intrigues me that you chose to go ahead with the bold concept of a straight man in love with an Intersex woman and the problems their love will face. I have so far made myself watch Preeto put opera singers to shame matching their vocal inflections to a tee. I have watched Maninder out do Hitler in his ways and means of ruining his child's life. Believe me it took every atom in the universe to stop me from yelling "Idiot!" to the idiot box itself when Harman proclaimed Soumya with lovelorn eyes as his friend. People suffering from Glaucoma could see the yearning in his eyes and I have 20/20 vision thankfully, pure torture trust me.

What works for me is the protective love that was showcased between Nimmi and Soumya, the relationship Surbhi has with Soumya. The real life portrayal of Kinnars in the Indian society and their lifestyle which is still considered a taboo topic. I wonder if you realize that your show is a benchmark in deciding the future path for these said Kinnar people. Just like Mughal-e-Azam's Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kiya inspired millions to flee their homes for love your soap has the capacity to influence the Indian society to a general acceptance of them.

I do not know what sort of research you did before launching this flagship or what your plans are regarding Harman's relationship with Soumya. I truly believe you can make history by actually giving Soumya self confidence, making Harman love her not the stupid love that is portrayed on Indian television but a deep profound love that is found in most marriages. I want Harman to not promise his mother to marry again, I want Harman to acknowledge to his mother and the world that he loves her. I want him to remember that he is legally married to her. I want Soumya to fight for Harman not weep at the drop of a hat and assent to becoming a maid in the Singh household. I want her to understand her value as a human being first and foremost and for her to stand with Harman to brave all storms together. I want him to help her become an independent, strong and capable being and retain the title of his wife.

I want Harman to get her treated by a doctor and to live, I repeat live like a husband with her. It is not abominable it is the truth of this world every gender is allowed to love and live with the person they love. Where I am from DSD people live with their partner of choice some even get married then why not in India? Why don't you become a trendsetter, break the norms, pave the path to a more beautiful and happy future for them. Whether you like it or not you have the power to play God to many many lives don't ruin it because let's face it you too have to live with yourself. Who knows how many may find true love and be able to change their destinies thanks to you. Best of luck!

An avid fan,

Muneeza.

Note: Guys if we could all sign it and send it to Rashmi or the creatives hopefully we may get to see something nice.

Kudos to the ardent way of expressions! I can't speak more as everything is beautifully codified by you. It takes a courage to come up with these types of out of box concepts. Therefore, RS mam, please don't ruin it.

Like you said, person having visual impairment also can sense Harman's so called FRIENDLY feelings for Saumya. However Harman's consideration of Saumya as FRIEND is a pure torture to endure.

In the egalitarian society, every human being has the right to lead a dignified lifestyle. So, for god's shake, don't make Saumya as a helpless servant in her own in-laws house. Don't want a weak Harman who only abides by her mother's sayings for second marriage. We need a man who can stand for his wife when all hurdles are surfacing them!

I completly echo your points and I hope your letter will surely pave a path for something good.
The points which I loved in your letter were harman's pending love confession to soumya, the mother-daughter duo, and the sisterly bond of soumya and surbhi.
The show is really a trendsetter in the history of indian television showcasing love story of an intersex/transgender girl and a normal guy especially when some stupid shows garn record breaking trps and the makers just make pure money by showing some of the most illogical drama and supernatural stuffs. But ya, I admit that the show needs some touch-ups and need to lessen some useless drama, which the show doesn't need at the moment. But that doesn't mean that what it presents to us is a complete crap. Sometimes, I wonder how HaYa's story would progress and how soumya would meet the family's expectations.
It needs to be revamped at some points. The increasing popularity of the show has clearly indicated that audiences believe in such concepts and will continue to contribute their part by loving and supporting the show.

Kash I am hoping Sonia or someone else who knows the creative team can e-mail the letter to them and if we manage to get many e-signs we may be able to stop this Surbhi Harman crap. I just can't bear it.

I agree with your points dear that a strong soumya is the need of the hour, cos no one wants to see her as a typical abla nari submitting to all the tortures of preeto and family. But that do need some time. At the very moment soumya is trying hard to set things right and make the mother-son come closer and sort out their differences and for this she might have accepted to bear all their tortures and even work as a maid in their house. Similiar situations were created in the kinnar house where initially she had submitted to their tortures but eventually she learnt to protest their set rules and stand apart from them. So I think slowly and steadly she will stand against preeto. Also there's harman and his reactions on the whole things is yet to be revealed. So making some comments on the whole drama is for me seems too early. Lets see how the story unfolds in future.

Read the spoilers Siya, if Harman Surbhi marriage is on the cards, I'm out. I refuse to stick to something that is maligned and corrupted in the name of entertainment.

Ya friend, I do agree that character personification and shaping do take time. But when Saumya isn't kinnar society, she was gradually taking stand for herself. However after her returning to mainstream society, she was again visualised as weak, creepy creature. That obviously I don't want. For Harman I can agree with you as it is yet to be revealed the true colors of Preeto in front of him. So after knowing that, let's see how he rebels.

lol. No one can bear their crap. Even a small piece of news pointing towards their pairing up together sets fire in the whole forum. But I don't think the makers will make such a blunder by marrying them off. Yet I can't tolerate them in one frame. This might be becos surbhi once loved harman and we HaYa fans always get insecured by her presence with harman. Nevertheless, it would be better if they sideline her from HaYa's story asap cos she always turns me off whenever she is seen joining harman to save soumya. Please can you write one more letter indicating the makers that we HaYa fans don't need her or even ask them her contributions in building up HaYa's relationship????
