Today on TV, it's the daily soaps which are concentrated upon the most. All other shows with low TRPS are quickly axed. Zee however has used a new strategy for one of its offbeat shows with low ratings, Shaabash India. The show has not been axed, but without any formal announcement, it has been silently shifted from the 10.30 pm twice-a-week slot, to Sunday, 7.30 pm slot. "Yes the timings have changed and it is because Zee wanted a daily soap to be placed in the time slot which we had, as it was more viable for them," admits Abhilash Bhattacharya, creative head and producer of Shaabash India. This shift to a weak time slot clearly shows that Shaabash India is being sidelined to pave the way for biggies like Maayka. Looks like the show's days are numbered. (Sampurn) |
