Fun Post: The Con Man (Jug Head) Realizes the Jewellery was Fake
At the same time that Jug Head was training his son, Ayyo to be a con man like him, two other con men Pappu and Tappu were operating in Jamshedpur.
Pappu and Tappu were jewellery thieves - but not the ordinary kind - they were distinguished; even the police did not know of their existence. They dressed impleccably and stole the very best from the most reputable shops. Their thefts were class acts too. They did a lot of groundwork before executing a theft. They selected the most expensive pieces and before they went into action took a lot of pictures from different angles. They then had a replica made by another jeweller -the replica was a mixture of gold and other metals and all stones were zircona, not originals. The final polished product in weight and looks always matched the original. Pappu and Tappu would then visit the jewellery store they had targeted and pretend an interest in purchasing the original and while handling it replace it with the fake. The jewellers would never realize that the original had been replaced with a fake and sell off the (now) fake piece to unsuspecting customers.
Gulkand was one of the unsuspecting customers of a well-known jewellery store who had purchased 3 fake necklace sets. When she and Ayyo walked out of Jug Head's house 2 of her most valuable (fake) sets were in Santoshi Devi's safe and the third she had handed over to Guddi on the day of her haldi rasam.
Jug Head was now running short on cash, so he decided to sell off Gulkand's jewellery. Dear readers, you can imagine the surprise that Jug Head got when he was offered no more than rupees 300 for the three jewellery sets. Finally, in a little way at least, Gulkand unknowingly had conned the con man!!
P.S. He is still low on cash! π
