'I was not eliminated because of my bad performance' - Juhi Parmar

The 2nd casualty in Say Shaava Shaava, Juhi Parmar talks to the Telly Buzz reporter soon after her elimination from the reality show..

Say Shaava Shaava, the 11 day musical reality show on NDTV Imagine is progressing at high speed and we witnessed the 2nd elimination today. To the surprise of viewers, Divyanka Tripathi and Juhi Parmar found themselves in the Danger Zone after their second performance, and today Juhi Parmar happens to be the 2nd celebrity to be voted out of Say Shaava Shaava.. The contestants who will face the music being in Danger Zone tonight are Narayani Shastri and Manish Goel..

Our reporter Ranjini Nair caught up with a dejected Juhi Parmar on the sets of the reality show. Says the gorgeous actress, "I was not eliminated because of my bad performance. I was eliminated because Aman targeted me the other day. In spite of giving a better performance in the second episode, I found myself in the danger zone." Juhi does not blame the voting pattern as she feels that every reality show comes with a bundle of uncertainties. "Maybe the viewers did not connect to my performance properly, but found Divyanka's performance more interesting. Hence they saved her", says Juhi.

The format of Say Shaava Shaava has a clause wherein the person getting eliminated can be the savior for one contestant and the actress feels that this is where she lost the battle. "The funda is that before a person goes out of the show, he/she can save another contestant. At this juncture, the eliminated person will not know who is safe and who is in danger zone, the person needs to name one contestant based on the pervious performance", says Juhi. She adds on to say, "Here, Aman preferred to choose Manish the other day because he just wanted to be nice to Manish because Manish was nice to him before. Today, before I came out of the contest, I saved Mouni purely because she sung very well. I am glad that I saved a good singer".

Talking about Sumeet Raghvan, Juhi says with a smile on her face, "Sumeet is a very good singer. We are beginners in singing whereas he is supreme. We used to tease him that he can directly take part in the Grand Finale and allow us to battle it amongst ourselves till the final stage". Juhi feels she has gained the confidence to sing before a big crowd now and the actress is very optimistic of getting back in the contest thro' Wild Card round. "I have 3 days left to prepare for the Wild Card, let us see if the judges and viewers get me back at least there", says the actress as she signs off

After Juhi Parmar, it is the turn of Mannish Goel to exit the NDTV Imagine reality show, Say Shaava Shaava. In tonight's episode, Narayani gets saved while Mannish is shown the door by the public. The celebrity show which started with 8 participants sees three contestants in Danger Zone tonight, they being Divyanka Tripathi, Mouni Roy and Narayani Shastri..

TV Review : Say Shaava Shaava To Worst Reality Show Of All

Sameer Nair's highly ambitious and the most talked about Indian television channel, NDTV Imagine was launched yesterday with much (exaggerated) fanfare. Despite hiring many well-known faces of the (not-so-small-anymore) desi-television Industry, NDTV Imagine never really grabbed my attention. My logic is quite simple – all Hindi channels cater to similar target audiences, therefore a new entrant cannot actually afford to be too different. All they do is present us with old goods, only in new packaging. Quite frankly, I am very much content with investing my spare time in BBC Entertainment – which is in fact a refreshing break from all the American crap we have been subjected to, of late.

However one of the so-called sensational shows on Imagine that caught my eye (during the publicity phase) and happened to be home on time to catch it on the idiot box was, yet again, a reality show named Say Shaava Shaava.

From the looks of it, Say Shaava Shaava had everything going for it.

1. Two of the most famous prime-time television hosts as judges – My darling KJo aka Karan Johar and one time beauty, Simi Girebal Garewal. Now one may not be too fond of his big screen productions but you cannot deny the high-reputation of his (famous) Koffee couch. And even though I can't understand Madam Simi's obsession with 'White' and would have rather preferred the likes of Hema Malini or Rekha but then my sister rightly pointed out – "They wouldn't show such cleavage".

2. And did Simiji show her bosoms or whot!

3. Already TRP hogging contestants in the form of popular tele-stars like Juhi Parmar, Narayani Shastri, Apurva Agnihotri and Aman Varma.

4. The regular Song-n-Dance routine but presented in a wedding theme.

As they say, however, at times even the best intentions attract completely opposite reactions and this is exactly what I think happened with Say Shaava Shaava.

Simi Garewal despite her (very) tight WHITE outfit and extra bouncy low neck line was prancing around not like a diva but instead like some stuffed-up doll. Apna television celebrities were really bad when it came to singing Bollywood numbers and by bad I mean, not only were they out-of-tune; they were as down-right "besuras". As for the Wedding theme, it appeared to be nothing more than just a marketing gimmick.

On the plus side, I can think only of Karan who was his usual smartass filmy self. Though at times even he was unsuccessful in hiding the utter disappointment unfolding in front of him. (On a related note - don't you think KJo's styling has improved a great deal since he has started endorsing heavy international brands.)

Anyway hats off to KJo and Madam Simi and the studio audience who had to sit thru it all.

Final words – This show comes across better if slotted under the "comedy" category; if you thought the folks on Filmy Channel's Bathroom Singer were sad, the contestants on Say Shaava Shaava are a couple of notches higher (worse) on the same scale. Thankfully the show come with an expiry date of just 11 days.

Surprisingly though Karan Johar also happens to be NDTV Imagine's creative consultant; one wonders how he let something so ugly pass by him or maybe he is just interested in counting the cash to finance so many of his, I mean, SRK's dream projects.

A Prospective Singer gets eliminated in Say Shava Shava tonight!

The January 26th Republic Day Special Episode of Say Shava Shava saw no Elimination , but the viewers are in for every shock tonight, As one of the Better Singer Narayani Shastri gets ousted from the competition.

Is this another Reality show where Popularity will win over Talent? As after getting accolades from both the judges Narayni Shastri found herself in Danger Zone and finally bowed out!

Tonight Episode will again witness Divyanka Tripathi along with Mouni Roy at the mercy of Viewers Vote!.

NDTV Imagine's Say Shaava Shaava enters its final phase, and tonight's episode will see the comeback of Juhi Parmar into the competition, thro' Wild Card. The battle is now on between the Top 4 – Sumeet Raghavan, Apurva Agnitohtri, Divyanka Tripathi and Juhi Parmar.

All said and done, tonight's episode will be a treat for all music lovers as Shekar of the famous Vishal-Shekar fame makes a special appearance on the sets of Shaava. The ace music director's presence spells magic on Sumeet Raghavan as he gives a mind-blowing performance on the number 'Tu Hai Aasmaan Main', which gets praised by one and all, including Shekar.

The audience is in for a shocker at the end of the episode, as Juhi after making a comeback thro' Wild Card finds herself yet again in the Danger Zone, courtesy an ordinary performance, along with the gorgeous Divyanka Tripathi.

The penultimate episode of Say Shaava Shaava sees the elimination of Divyanka Tripathi, thereby giving the reality show its 3 finalists – Sumeet Raghavan, Apurva Agnihotri and Juhi Parmar. The gorgeous actress Kaajol is the celebrity guest to grace tonight's episode.

The stage is now set for a royal Final Battle tomorrow, where the musical notes of the 3 finalists will be tested by the esteemed judges Karan Johar and Simi Garewal for one last time. The winner will be chosen purely based on the judges' marks in tomorrow's Finale.

After a host of heart warming performances, exciting rounds and series of eliminations, SUMEET RAGHVAN was adjudged the winner of this musical entertainer by judges Karan Johar & Simi Garewal. The ultimate face-off between the three finalists; Apurva Agnihotri, Juhi Parmar and Sumeet Raghvan had some exciting moments including a surprise visit by Kareena Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan!

An overjoyed Sumeet exclaimed, "I still can't believe that I have won this competition! WOW! I think it's going to take a while before reality sinks in. But I must say that I had lots of fun on the show. It was great to compete with my friends and have Karan and Simi judging us day after day.
