On the "awesome" sentence, I couldn't resist. π³ π Glad you liked it. So true on missing Vihaan. After watching 8.5's episode, I missed him even more. While he thinks he's happy, he's still not his true self, which he doesn't realize yet.Fully on the same page with you on what can be done with vamp/villian characters, Ranjana. In this case, certain acting choices within scenes may factor into why it's difficult to take her in. For me, though, most of the blame rests on faulty characterization for her at the expense of the main characters. Also, faulty plotting. I get that this genre has certain melodramatic expectations and demands, but at least let it come naturally from stories that focus on the main pairing's chemistry and the ensemble cast's chemistry. At this point, I've decided to just sit back and ride this out. The CVs will do what they feel they must, so I'm keeping expectations low and staying open for pleasant surprises. And 8.5's episode was a pleasant surprise. π Thank you, CVs and writing peeps! Finally the story is pushed a little after getting some set-up I'll take this for however long it lasts.Sidney, I immediately remembered your spec while watching as well. Like you both have said, the Aarushi factor was unexpected, but along the lines of what you thought. It would be nice if the Moms and Aarushi have a chance to continue and finish what they've started today.I'm so glad we've gotten to see these sides to Aarushi and the Moms again. These are the feisty, strong-willed women we've known. I agree that Aarushi being the engineer of the prank was a really good option, and she was able to not only reinvigorate the Moms' hope, but also start on her answer to the Wacko's challenge. It produced very entertaining scenes. This Wacko is playing games with Vihaan's mind, his marriage and his bond with his mothers, so I'm glad the writing gave us a chance to see what a sniveling coward she is (and eager to play the victim) when the tables promise to get turned on her. I was also reminded of the wonderful chemistry this cast has. Everyone's personalities came through so distinctly as they worked together, some knowingly and others inadvertently, for this common cause -- Harpreet's almost uncontrollable exuberance, Dadi Ma's quiet approval (accompanied by her own quiet warning), Neelima's enjoyment of the whole moment and Mini's independent reality check for the Wacko. I could watch that part with Mini and everyone's reactions on a loop all day. πOn the Pandit side of things, again there are some contrivances with how they've started Girish's sensitivity to the baby not being his own child, but I'm giving up that fight. His reaction is grounded in reality and rather natural for these situations, so I appreciate that. Not looking forward to another obsessed woman on the show when we haven't seen the backend of the psycho that is in the Vatsal house yet. Hope this comes in measured doses and makes a little bit of sense. As frustrating as this track has been, Ravish and Mugdha's performances truly have been too good to miss.
