Ranjana, Sidney, it may be safe to say most of us around here are in the same boat with this show -- hanging on by our fingernails for Ravish and Mugdha. Wonderful chemistry and rapport!

Ranjana, so much agreement on the many problematic parts of the writing. You mentioned some things that also frustrated me (Vihaan's post-marriage shift and Aarushi's habit of always going off on her own in particular). We're dealing with CVs who seem terrified to properly explore character and chemistry, but who fearlessly pursue sabotaging tracks and characters. Boggles the mind. It's certainly their prerogative to do so, but at what cost? We'll have to wait and see how this track is received. I'm with Sidney on wanting the Moms to be written as Aarushi's biggest supporters through this amnesia track. It would be far more interesting to watch them frustrate and undermine that woman, if the CVs let it go that way. I'm keeping my expectations at zero.

Coming to the episodes, I've enjoyed reading your daily reactions, Ranjana. I agree on Farida during Monday's episode. I expect this whole situation, Vihaan's memory loss included, to hit Dadi Ma, Narmada, and Aarushi understandably the hardest and we've gotten great reactions from them. As for the others, Geeta is always one tear away from a full weeping session πŸ˜†, so I think she was normal. Neelima was emotional when she just found out, but she's also one of the more reason-driven Vatsal women and may come off more restrained like Mini. Priyanka came in scene already knowing Vihaan was missing, and she has always come across very internal and somewhat subdued, so, I agree her reaction might still be low-energy (which is why her track should have been short and framed within a more action-driven story instead of a sluggish 7 week long competition with her daughter-in-law πŸ₯±).

On the upside, I agree that Monday's episode was good (except for the contrived use of Dadi Ma to draw Aarushi away from Mumbai . . . πŸ₯± ) Also, not much Vihaan on Tuesday's episode understandably, but glad he was found. I agree with you on the Dadi Ma's mention of the "marriage curse". Rare continuity. One of most striking parts of the writing for 7.27 and 7.28 for me was the way the Moms seemed to be waiting for Aarushi to anchor them on Monday, and she did. She came in and, she rallied all of them, sort of describing them as a force of nature -- 8 Vatsal women, 7 mothers-in-law and their bahu -- who were going to do everything possible to get their Vihaan back. It revealed how much she has become the heart of the family alongside Vihaan (if only the CVs would let them beat together more often). I liked what they had her say and her words will be tested pretty soon.

On the downside, we have to brace for La Petite Wacko soon. Btw, Ranjana, while watching the episodes, something you said on another thread struck me as a real possibility -- she may actually say she's Aarushi or maybe police will assume she's Aarushi and she won't deny it. We'll see.

I've been trying to figure where the CVs will place Aarushi and handle things once Vihaan returns and I tend to go to the worse case scenario first. Is Aarushi advised to return to the Pandits so that she doesn't "confuse" Vihaan? Or does she take on the identity of a maid, "family friend" or something along those lines and stay with the Vatsals? Or maybe there's another option I haven't yet considered.

EDITED: I just read about the leap in Wednesday's episode. πŸ€” Not sure why, but I'm not entirely surprised by it. Nevertheless, it's still throwing me off and will need to process this for a bit.

Another wonderful comment by you, and I would have loved to discuss it, but am just too shocked and disgusted by today's episode. You read correctly - they showed a leap of six months 😳 Aarushi is pregnant, Jhanvi is pregnant, and for all we know, Vibha must also be pregnant 🀒
They are setting up the background for a whole new generation in the show. And they are welcome to do it. But I don't have the stomach or will to watch this crap anymore. Not even for DhaVish. Wish they quit this stupid show immediately and take up something better on a better channel πŸ₯±

29/7 - That was an unintentionally hilarious episode πŸ˜†πŸ˜† couldn't help laughing even when the scenes were presumably meant to be serious and sad πŸ˜†only good part was Vihaan's re-entry. Poor guys looks down in the dumps. Now I want to watch it further to see what ridiculously funny story they are going to offer for his absence πŸ˜† One thing I've realised - the CVs and writers and even the directors of this show should be put into a straitjacket asap πŸ˜†

The last scene of Friday's episode makes me want to watch the show during this memory loss track πŸ˜” Aarushi's shock and happiness on seeing him, and Vihaan politely addressing her... it was awesomely done by Mugs and Ravish. I will hate a lot of things about the track but I know I will enjoy their performances.
I'll watch till the time they become parents. Uske baad toh dekhne ka sawaal hi nahi hain πŸ˜† I Refuse to watch ArHaan as parents! πŸ₯± In most shows, leaps and kids arrive after a year or two, but here... 😳 ArHaan have hardly spent any happy moments as a couple, and now they are going to become parents??! what bullcrap 🀒

Ranjana, Ravish and Mugdha continue to be the saving grace of this show. All the actresses playing the Moms shine as well, especially Farida. Yet, still, Ravish and Mugdha have been bringing so much to the table since the underwater scenes. Really good performances on Friday, even Ravish's inflection in tone with this version of Vihaan. He's so unusually quiet in speaking, it made me double take. Vihaan's unhappiness and confusion were palpable. I'm bracing for the worst possible scenarios for coming episodes, but I'll watch whatever I can stomach. πŸ˜†

On Vihaan-Aarushi's fastforwarded parenthood, it's not what I wanted to see so quickly either. I wouldn't have minded a pregnancy scare at first and then a real pregnancy down the road. But now that they've advanced it so much, I'm OK with it. However, I have no idea why they needed to have Aarushi pregnant for this track. πŸ˜• Maybe it's Zee's suggestion or their own off-beat creative choices. Either way, I sense the CVs have been planning this track while still in the midst of the Priyanka track. I've been convinced for months that they're terrified to explore the range of Vihaan-Aarushi's chemistry or they're uncertain what stories will work for them. They just seem at a loss with how to really explore who they are together once they were married. It's unfortunate because they have two actors here who are capable of so much more than they give them.

Yeah, that last scene was superb. I too was amazed at the change in Vihaan's tone and body language. Ravish was magnificent in the scene. To show Vihaan's incomprehension and confusion, yet retain the lad's inherent politeness and well-mannered aspects, and simultaneously convey the soul-deep unhappiness within... it must have been so difficult, but Ravish nailed it ⭐️ And Mugdha... her ability to express a range of emotions simply through her eyes and expressions- without any dialogues - is one of the things that made me her fan years ago. She did it brilliantly in that scene ⭐️

I had actually decided to give up on the show, but after that scene, I'm confused again πŸ˜†

The pregnancy - I'm not okay with it at all πŸ˜” Am sure it was Zee's idea 😑 it is typical of their team's obsession with hyper melodramatic tracks 🀒 Agree fully with these lines in your post -

"I've been convinced for months that they're terrified to explore the range of Vihaan-Aarushi's chemistry or they're uncertain what stories will work for them. They just seem at a loss with how to really explore who they are together once they were married. They could have followed the Marathi show, which has been running nicely for two years without kids and all this crap. But nooo... the CVs decided to come up with different tracks using their own "creativity" and "intelligence", and then realised too late that they lack both πŸ˜³πŸ˜† Ravish and Mugdha - my heart goes out to both these fine actors...

Spot on about the delicate balance Ravish had to navigate for that scene. Vihaan is usually very warm and connected, and it was so easy to read Vihaan's confusion and detachedness from his performance while retaining key, though understated, parts of Vihaan's nature like you said. Really very nicely done. Very true on Mugdha who quickly and seamlessly shifted from happiness to questioning to shock. Both so good. Both going beyond the material given to them. πŸ‘ It's so important for us to just keep letting them know how much we appreciate what they've given and continue to give.

πŸ˜† I'm glad you've decided to stick around. At least for a little while. I guess you may have to just take it one episode at a time.

About working stories from the Marathi version. Even if they took more stories from the Marathi version, they probably would still have had to change things to cater to this more mainstream Zee audience, whose appetite for OTT and faster paced melodrama is pretty well-established. At the same time, I agree that they could use basic story ideas from that version, tweek it, and proceed from there. As is, they've left us without much faith and (slightly) traumatized. We'll have to see if they grasp what BARC viewers, and viewers like us in general, want to see.

Yes, you're very right! Ravish and Mugdha deserve to know that their performances are being loved and appreciated πŸ‘πŸΌ
And yeah, this channel is nuts about stories that have nothing to do with reality πŸ˜† Put together a bizarre track, caterwauling background scores and inconsistent characters, and bang! you have yourself a Zee show πŸ˜†

The new montage is downright absurd and stupid πŸ˜•πŸ˜† I know they are trying to retain a comic element in the show but this is not the time, people! πŸ˜³πŸ˜†

But the rest of the show was anything but funny Vibha's insane rants, claims and demands were hard to stomach 🀒 When the moms said they would call a doctor, she just yelled "Nahiii", and none of them bothered to call a doctor anymore and spent the rest of the episode snarling at her while she explained how God intended for her to be Vihaan's wife πŸ˜†πŸ˜•πŸ˜† Really hope they show the Vatsal women calling a doctor in tomorrow's episode. There is a limit to how much illogical stuff I can handle πŸ₯± Mugdha gave a very good, restrained performance while showing Aarushi's shock and grief as well as her inner strength and disgust for Vibha πŸ‘And Ravish's performance as a broken and utterly lost Vihaan was so touching πŸ‘ Although I could understand Mini's desperation as a mother, I wanted to hit her for waking him up and torturing him with those high-pitched demands My bechara Vihu - he is suffering at so many levels :(

Oh before I forget - Have to say I'm impressed with VIbha's prem diwani act πŸ˜³πŸ˜† When the Vatsal women were chilling out in their mansion after lighting akhand diyas and blowing conch shells, this psycho actually searched for Vihaan in Mumbai and found him! If she is not lying, then yeh toh manna padega that her Vihaan-obsession is greater than that of all the Vatsal women combined πŸ€ͺπŸ˜† and that makes me hate her even more πŸ˜• I guess her Vihaan-obsession can't hold a candle to mine πŸ˜†
