JJJ I'm so happy to see your post! ðĪ As usual, when I was reading your post, a hundred light bulbs were switched on in my head! ðĪ ð ðĪAw, Ranjana! ðĪ Here I am. I've been rendered speechless this week's eps (for all the wrong reasons), so I was waiting to see how the week went since I'm guessing some of this was written/taped before they knew they were getting an extension. Omgg I hadn't considered that at all! I was really at a loss at the sudden and meteoric rise in stupidity in the writing and direction in this week's episodes, but your insight makes it clear! They thought they had to wrap up this show within a few episodes. The scene we saw today...the psycho kidnapping Vihaan... this is the scene that was being shot that day when I visited the set. Aarushi's delivery and many other scenes that we are seeing now had already been shot. They must have learnt on that day or the next that the show is getting an extension, and by then crap had already hit the fan ð ðĨąTracking back to 8.31, I agree with you and Sidney on Ravish's fantastic performance, especially with Vihaan's confession to sleeping Aarushi. The Vatsal side of the ep was really about Vihaan's conflict with his feelings for Aarushi and the babies and, as usual, he brought his A game to the scenes. Since 8.27 ep, his words and his actions were at war. Aarushi is not supposed to mean anything yet she clearly makes everything more meaningful for him. It heightens his protectiveness of her, even with Kasturi. By 8.31's end, it seemed kind of fitting he finally voices his confusion about her without her knowing since he's her husband and their babies' father without knowing it. The intimacy, spontaneity, and joy of Vihaan's confession was beautiful. Seriously... it was an amazing performance by Ravish! His anxiety, confusion, happiness, love - all without knowing why he was feeling all those emotions... and his confession... sigh! it was just perfect! In 9.1's ep, my top pick would be Vihaan bringing Aarushi and the twins home. Glad to finally see Narmada as well. If Sonali couldn't make it to the days of filming the pre-birth and post-birth scenes on 8.31, then I understand. However, if she was available and they simply didn't write her in, then it was a serious oversight to leave Narmada out when her only son becomes a father, IMHO. Those caps you posted, Ranjana, are adorable. âĪïļ Surbhi's fan art is gorgeous. I think Sonali wasn't available :/ But I too feel they should have made sure she was a part of those crucial scenes. She is Vihaan's real mother for crying out loud ð ðĨą Yeah, their entry into the house was done nicely. Vihaan standing by Aarushi with their babies in their arms <3 He occupies the spot beside her with full authority, though he doesn't know why. And that tiny rakshabandhan celebration was sweet ð9.2 had some good moments in the middle of the washing machine fiasco. First, Vihaan finally questions the psycho about those pills and refuses to take them, showing/saying he mistrusts her. It's part of what I wanted to see him do -- begin detaching himself even before memory recovery. If only he was written as using that same internet to find out more about himself and his real wife before the accident. He would have found out the truth a lot sooner. Second, Mugdha and Ravish during the family's search for the baby. Seriously, these two! Aarushi's heart wrenching desperation to find their daughter, even blaming herself at one point, was sealed by Vihaan's tears of relief and instinctive naming of himself as her father when he finally found her. Really good grounding performances despite the OTT context. Those moments you highlighted were the saviours of yesterday's episode. Yeah, the performances were really good âïļ I laud the actors for always trying so hard despite the enormous stupidity of the sequence and what followed...Overall, I expect and accept that logic is elusive in serials and that there are melodramatic demands the show must fulfill. At the same, the show's writing, editing, and directoral people have worn me out with the continued contrivances, the continued plot holes, and the continued frustrating character deconstruction. Then, there's the infernal "Veeehaaanjeee"s uttered by that loon, her constant scenery chewing, and her ever-changing mental function (dumber than dirt one minute then clever and resourceful the next ðĪŠ). I'm exhausted. Me too, J... Me too ðĨą The people behind the scenes are beyond pathetic and useless ðĨą and that shriek of "Vihaan jee" is more unbearable that the sound of nails scraping across a blackboard ðĪĒSidney, Ranjana, your posts on the psycho are awesome! ðĪĢ Yeah, the constant shift of the fraud's supposed "intelligence" is probably the simultaneously funniest and worst thing about this since the start. The woman has giant holes in her reasoning process and can't scratch two simple thoughts together in one episode, but I'm supposed to believe she's a mastermind with quick access to goons and minions in the next? Um, no! ð Someone should donate her brain to science (and examine those of the writers/producers responsible for this mess as well as other messes to come). At the moment, IMHO, Karuna is surprisingly better written and she's more convincingly performed to the point where she actually has me a little worried for naive, in-over-their-heads Girish-Jhanvi when I'm really not invested in that side of the show. I don't expect the current effect to last long, but the difference right now is still pretty stark -- the secondary couple gets the danger woman and our lead couple are saddled with a schizophrenic clown. ðĪ Spot on about Karuna and the schizophrenic clown (best description ever btw ðð)! Karuna - the character has some real meat, and the actor is doing a good job! She is consistent in her greyness and grey matter, both. How I wish the CVs had put a similar vamp in ArHaan's life. Not this insufferable SC ðĪĒIf BARC viewers are enjoying the track, then that's good and I'll go along with it (kicking and screaming), since they share control with Zee. If I see something I happen to enjoy, then I'll enjoy it. I've enjoyed Vihaan's heart tug towards Aarushi every time she's around him. I've enjoyed Aarushi finding ways to spend time with him. I've enjoyed watching the Moms support Aarushi, though it would have been nice to seem them more proactive and pre-emptive rather than reactive, which is what they've been mostly. So I take the good I find in this minefield and I savor it. Still, IMHO, the heart of the characters and concept have suffered due to this track. I'm always confused by BARC viewers, but I think they are also fed up of this track. TRPs fell to 1.8. And looks like last time's TRP was 1.9, not 2. It's not a big drop but still... ðĪ Wonder when the new show's timings will be announced. And this no further news on the extension or new time slot for SS too. I just don't trust this channel at all...All of that said, I'm really glad the team has been able to celebrate 200 eps. ð The crew seems very dedicated to what they do and the original main cast is really wonderful. From the little they've allowed us to see, they seem to have really become a family. I'm continually impressed by Ravish and Mugdha who always give -- individually and together -- far beyond what the writing gives them. Major, major props to them. They are gifts to this show. Beautifully and rightly said ð Ravish and Mugdha are gifts to this show!! How I wish Zee could see their talent, hard work and magic and give them more respect and recognition...
