Heyyy it's great to see your post πŸ€— You've brilliantly charted the whole ratings journey of the story. I so wish the CVs would read your post and understand where they went wrong. Agree with every single line in your comment. Priyanka's track was responsible for kick-starting the show's downhill journey. And they actually dragged that sordid tale for two whole months. Did the CVs really think that the audiences would love to see a supposed "mother's" perverted jealousy over her son's marital bliss? ArHaan's roles were reduced to being mere pawns in that woman's repulsive game. I still don't understand what drove the CVs to commit this hara-kiri despite seeing that the ratings were dropping week after week during the track. Unless there were some behind-the-scenes games that we don't know about.
I wish I was back on better onscreen circumstances. The CVs seem to have tunnel vision and they're not in a position to take the creative risks they do. They're not looking at patterns and they're not understanding their characters well enough. They are their own worst enemy, and their wonderful actors get the brunt of the it.

On the bold, I've wondered that too. Though I was hoping they wouldn't have continued with the Crazy Woman's presence, their persistence with the character isn't surprising (they left clues in the dialogue) and makes me wonder that in this case as well. Even if she was part their broad plan to be in this track weeks ago, they've seen that her presence has helped to dismantle the ratings in recent weeks yet they still pursue this course of action, acting as if their story plans are set in stone. Do they not realize a memory loss track can be done without an interloper? If the BARC viewers surprisingly respond positively to the upcoming memory loss track, well, then it may be because we get more Aarhan and Vihaan-Moms scenes in the coming weeks than we've had in the last two months because, IMHO, it's been very clear that viewers despise interlopers. We'll see.
@bold - This is what I find most depressing. They have amazing lead actors who share beautiful and natural chemistry. Instead of exploiting the advantage, the makers use DhaVish as props to support ridiculous tracks that revolve around useless side characters πŸ₯±

Ranjana, I don't think I've ever seen CVs who seem so scared or confused about using their lead pair's chemistry. Other shows understand what they have in their hands and give scenes that draw on their lead pairing's chemistry. This team does the opposite. Like you said, Ravish and Mugdha have natural chemistry and work really hard at getting it right, but these CVs misuse it, ignore it, and rush to put other characters in the middle of it. It's really just very sad.

You've hit the nail on the head. The CVs of this show are the most clueless and idiotic bunch ever They wouldn't recognise good writing, imagination and intelligence if all three took turns slapping them in the face. If they see that a track is working, they end it immediately. If they see that a track is harming the show terribly, they drag it for months πŸ˜• And as for Ravish and Mugdha - not only do they share startling chemistry, they're also very professional, dedicated and hardworking. Aarushi and Vihaan would have been treated like gold in the hands of better PHs. Here, they are relegated to being side characters πŸ₯± All of these factors are sort of convincing me that the show is being sabotaged intentionally πŸ€”

As you said, Vihaan's memory loss by itself offered ample scope for good emotional drama. There was no need for a crazy and revolting character like Vibha πŸ˜• Agree... the only way this track can work is if they show plenty of good and stirring ArHaan scenes. But I'm afraid to hope now...

I understand what you mean about the sense of deliberate self-sabotage. With Zee TV possibly in the mix, things can get complicated I suppose. Unfortunately, hope is probably not something we can afford anymore. It's become safer to brace for all possibilities and be relieved when things go the way they should. πŸ˜†

I'll be honest, these CVs lost my trust the moment they rushed into the Priyanka track in mid-May. The major flaws in their plotting, pacing, and characterization began rearing their heads. They once again put Vihaan at odds with Aarushi at the start of the second Mom track (as they did when the Neelima-Gautam track began) and sidelined him so that Aarushi could launch off on her own to impress Priyanka instead of allowing him to work with Aarushi to find ways of finessing Priyanka together. Then the writing kept ignoring key emotional beats. Vihaan wasn't even in court to hear Priyanka's grand confession nor was he given any opportunity to react to what Priyanka did or what Aarushi was about to do. A great emotional highpoint would have been to have him be the first to find out the truth about the accident and have him come down like a ton of bricks on Priyanka and even Aarushi. But, instead, they diffused the energy. They kept him on the side and put him into action late in order to set up this wreck of a track we're seeing now. They kept using Arhaan scenes as band aids for that impoverished track, but I began feeling as if they weren't invested in Vihaan-Aarushi because instead of giving them a little downtime, they rushed off to start the obsession arc. I realized early June they were uncertain about exploring Vihaan's characterization and using Arhaan's chemistry. Lost, dazed and confused they are.

Coming to what we're about to see, when TellyChakkar mentioned the Crazy Vibha "love triangle" in their very first article on this a few weeks ago (when we still had the first version of Vibha), I remember thinking at the time that "love triangle" implies Vihaan would think he loves the woman and the only way he'd ever do that is if he lost awareness of his own identity and Aarushi. Here we are. The recent dialogue and direction laid that foundation as well (Crazy's "second chance" comment, and that "moment" the direction tried to create between her and Vihaan with the aarti tray at Girish's wedding). They usually do opposite of what I'd like to see, so I fully expect them to have Vihaan try to be Crazy's "husband". The quickest way a show's producers will lose me as a viewer is to add a third party. They've added third party, so you can guess where I stand on the show. πŸ˜† However, I'm still a fan of Ravish and Mugdha's chemistry and it's the only reason I stick it out. It would be a relief if the CVs regained trust by focusing the next few weeks on who matter most -- Vihaan-Aarushi's love story and their relationships with the Moms.

True that!! I lost my faith in the CVs during Neelima's track. But I began detesting them during Priyanka's track. The point you raised about Vihaan's involvement in Priyanka's track - it rankled a looottt!!! They gave us a scene in which Vihaan is discussing the accident with Aarushi and saying that he feels she is innocent. So I honestly believed and hoped that we would get a great scene with him blasting both foolish women. But when the truth came out, he didn't hear it, and far from confronting Priyanka and Aarushi, the CVs didn't even show him acknowledging the fact in any way! It could have been such a powerful scene, but no... these pathetic writers just brushed it under the carpet. And at the start of the show, we saw how much Vihaan wanted bua to take up dancing again, but again, he was missing during the dance performance and they didn't show him hearing about it or talking to Priyanka about it. It's like Vihaan's emotions and thoughts don't matter πŸ˜• The only people who matter are the reckless and hyper women in the Vatsal house πŸ₯±

Yes... the CVs have messed up the characterisations very badly I find it hard to connect Aarushi and Vihaan to the people we met at the start of the show.

The old Vihaan - the cheerful and happy guy who divided his time beautifully between his mothers, and pampered them and often sweet-talked his way out of trouble - has not been seen since the marriage. He has become a somber and grim individual, with just some occasional glimpses of his old happy self. I can't help feeling that marriage screwed the poor guy's life πŸ˜†During the bua maa track, his screen space wasn't affected but his importance in the house and office was slashed big time. His job was to clear up the mess created by Bua and Aarushi, and help his wife remain in the good books of his perverted mother. That's all. Aarushi once was a fierce and sharp young lady who didn't take crap from people. During the bua track, she turned into an eager puppy who happily accepted humiliation and nastiness in the hopes of getting Priyanka's approval. And not to forget, taking crucial decisions without consulting Vihaan or thinking about his feelings

And in between these horrible developments, ArHaan moments, like you said, were used like candy to sustain the interest of viewers. But by introducing that psycho, they are going to push away ArHaan fans too. Coz third angles in love stories are a complete no no for me as well. I've given up on more than two shows Overnight because I couldn't put up with it. I want to continue watching SS because I'm kind of addicted to ArHaan's chemistry (and I am a huggeee DhaVish shipper tooπŸ˜†) but everything depends on this new track. Let's see how our genius CVs handle it

Even if CVs read our posts, unhe koi farak nahi padne wala πŸ˜† they are on a mission to destroy the show

We're in the same boat I love ArHaan/DhaVish. If it wasn't for them, I would have stopped watching SS three months ago. I love most of the moms too, and I really wish you're right about them being Aarushi's saviours...

Hmmm nothing much happened today but it didn't feel like a filler episode because of Farida Jalal. Her breakdown looked so real! Amazing amazing actress. The other moms seem a little too composed, considering that their jigar ka tukda is missing :| Harpreet and Narmada showed some emotion. But the rest - Mini, Priyanka, Tai maa, Maasi maa - are taking the news unnaturally well πŸ˜•πŸ˜† Didn't expect screaming or wailing from them but also didnt expect them to handle the news so calmly πŸ˜† don't know whom to blame for that. Director or the writers? Jo bhi ho, to me it seemed like only Aarushi, Daadi and to some extent Harpreet and Narmada are actually affected by the news.

28/07 - Yayyy my VIhuuu is backk!! :)) Good episode overall. Aarushi's scenes with the mom were quite touching and sweet. Narmada's breakdown scene was also good. And am glad Daadi raised the topic of the marriage being unlucky for Vihaan. It was a natural reaction. Would have been a little too sweet and positive if none of the moms were shown talking about it. For once, the CVs didn't disappoint me πŸ˜† but am sure they will go back to their usual form tomorrow onwards πŸ˜† And precap - yes, Aarushi is going to become a mommy πŸ˜† Mugs looking v pretty in the last scene <3 Sari aside, that look reminded me a little of the pre-marriage Aarushi :) How I wish we get back that beautiful and fiesty young girl we'd seen in the initial episodes...
