Avika gor all new look...with her short hair

TV actress Avika Gor aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu recently created a flutter with her brand new avatar.

The former child star, fondly remembered as the chirpy child bride of the Colors hit social drama, was unrecognizable in sexy bangs at the Colors Golden Petal Awards held on March 6.

And now the actress has gotten rid of her long locks altogether. Yes, Avika has chopped off her long tresses.

She shared the picture of her new haircut on Instagram.

Posting a picture of her chopped hair, Avika wrote, "My long locks. GONE!." She also posted a picture of herself sporting her new hairstyle and wrote, "Here it is guys.. Thank u shreedhar ..."

The new Avika is a rather welcome change as we've seen her in a traditional look for way too long.

Avika began her career as a child artist with Balika Vadhu about eight years ago and was seen wearing lehengas and heavy jewellery. Even in her second show, Sasural Simar Ka, she was mostly seen in saris, jewellery and long hair--a bit too much for a teenager.

Whether Avika chopped off her tresses out of boredom or to break out of the stereotype she had come to be associated with, we don't know, but what we definitely know is that her new look is totally WOW!
