Gender inequality- To what extent does it exists today?

Okay first of all I'm sorry for the gambhir title 😆 But this is a serious topic which I felt should be discussed here.
As we know Sarojini is a show which primarily focuses upon women's education and their rights and place in the society. And we have seen how Dushyant treats the women of his house, they basically have no right to have an opinion, make decisions without his consent, dress the way they want, eat what they like heck not even vomit when they want to 😕 And on top of that even forced to eat the remainder of a roti eaten by the dog first. And they can definitely forget about education and stepping out of the house.
Now I know the above mentioned examples are a bit extreme but they're fiction, it's supposed to be dramatised and exaggerated to achieve the desired effect. And I'm sure most of us living a modern life in the 21st century do not relate to it, but we do know that gender inequality is very much prevalent today. My question is how much and to what extent does it prevail in our society today? You guys can use the examples around you as reference and what can be done about it?

well yeah, it does exist, I guess. Like for example the clothes girls wear. Like yeah, people may have moved on to jeans and all but some girls can't wear shorts, etc.
I know education inequality does exist, for example Malala herself fought for educational rights.

Every person deserves equal opportunities. :)

Well said very relatable 👏 the clothes are still an issue I know certain places where girls can't wear jeans and walk comfortably in public 😕 Malala got shot in the head coz she demanded education for girls and is still fighting for it and another small example is that when a guy works he is just supposed to do that only he gets everything ready at home while if a girl is working she doesn't get that privilege she has to work plus do the household chores.

Yes it's true people might keep saying that the world is changing and women have the space as men in the society but it's not entirely true maybe it's not very evident but it's still there in a more subtle way sad but true and around the peripheries you can see it happening with full force even the dramatic stuff shown in the show maybe.

Exactly indirectly in cities and directly in villages
