(I dont know if this article is relevent in the Bidaai forum or not.....but since it is somewhat related to Bidaai....i thought it would be allright to post it here....if not.... then the moderators can close this topic....)
Hina Khan: Ready for her Debut
Hina Khan, a girl from Srinagar, will mark her entry in the world of television next week in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. And while Hina says that she is very excited about her first show, she also admits that she is still learning about the profession. When asked whether she watches the popular show Bidaai, the actress replies with a slight smile that she "used to see it though not regularly."
Hina is a management graduate but always knew that acting was her calling in life. And thankfully for her she had her family's backing.
"My father and my entire family supported me a lot. Initially they were worried as I am from Srinagar. I got my parents here and once my mother saw that how things are working out here and she liked unit and everyone over here. I am also getting to learn new things everyday. I am new to this marvari culture and I like it. Being a Muslim, we have a different culture and I am getting to learn how marwari people are," she says.
The concept of the show is love after marriage. So how much does she believe in that?
"I do believe in this concept. In fact I believe in both love marriage and arrange marriage. Askhara is a pampered girl but there are certain restrictions on her and she has adjusted herself. She gets married with this guy and slowly they fall in love with each other."
So what preparation has she done for this role?
"I have done lots of preparations! When I came here, Rajan really trusted me a lot. Everyone knew that I do not know acting and was asking whether I would be able to manage as it is such a big show. Then he sent me to the classes at Amardeep Jha's place for a two week course. I am improving now and I am happy about it .I was quite nervous on my first day when I had to face camera but my director really helped me a lot and no other director would have done this. I did not count how many retakes I have done but now I am comfortable," she says.
Hina, who is new in the city, plans to move to Mumbai with her parents to further her career in television serials.
