I think insecure and insensiive are the two words that would describe both Rudr's and Pihu's character.
Pihu was just joking with Rudr in the bridge.But Rudr have taken it seriously.The main reason behind this is he is very insecured inside.From childhood he has been neglected by his parents so he is always afraid of loosing his loved ones.This insecurity has made him into a very possesive and singleminded person.The way he reacted to a joke was too much and the he slapped Pihu shows his narrow mind.No man has a right to physically assault a woman.Rudr could have scold Pihu but the slapping was a bit too much.It can never be justified though I can justify his insecurity to some extent.
Pihu is a very insensitive girl.When she has agreed to marry Rudr she should have closed the chapter of Abhay.I know she as just joking with Rudr but to unnecessarily praise another man and his family infront of her fiance is not right.She knows Rudr from childhod.She knows his weakness.So she shouldn't have hurt Rudr by telling that he is nothing without her and no one loves him except her.It's not right to make fun of someones weakness.I support her for calling off her marriage with Rudr.But she should have informed him and his parents earlier.Making a fun of an entire family is not right.I just disliked her when she hold Abhay's hand.I mean she is just using Abhay to hurt Rudr which is quite unfair.What's the need of marrying Abhay?Her actions of not marrying Rudr can e justified but her insensivity can not be justified.
So finally I want to say that both have faults and they do not deserve each other.
