Dhani is taking care of Sarla and giving her her medicine. Dhani tells her how Amber stopped Mohini and them from leaving. Just then Mohini walks in to give Sarla her medicine. Sarla prefers to take the medicine from Mohini while saying that Mohini has become her best, and truest, friend in a short while. Buaji walks in with halwa for Sarla and tells Sarla that they are there to care for her. Mohini starts talking about how the only reason Amber let them stay back is because of Sarla's health. Buaji apologizes to Sarla for mistreating her and saying she has realized that Sarla is Amber's sita. Mohini and Buaji taunt Dhani.
While Dhani is sleeping, Buaji tries to steal from the safe in Dhani's room. Mohini comes, stops her and takes her back to their own room. Mohini makes Buaji understand that they can't make any more mistakes now. Mohini says they need to wait for the right moment since they want all these luxuries.
In the morning, Dhani is cooking in the kitchen. Sarla walks in and starts to cook as well. Mohini, Buaji, and Taiji walk in and tell Sarla not to cook. They say they will cook food for Sarla but Sarla says she wanted to cook for them. Taiji settles the matter by saying that Dhani will cook for all of them. Just then, Sumer walks in saying Gauri is in pain.
The family is eagerly waiting outside Gauri's room. The doctor comes out and congratulates the family on the birth of Gauri's son. Everyone rushes to go inside but Taiji stops Dhani and gives her tasks to do, while taking Sarla inside.
Inside the room, everyone is expressing their joy at the birth of the heir. Just then, Gauri's daughters run in wanting to see the baby. Taiji scolds them and tells them to leave, saying they are manhoos. Gauri calls her daughters to come closer and tells Taiji not to separate her from her daughters. Taiji threatens to throw Gauri and her daughters out if Gauri doesn't distance herself from her daughters. Taiji says she doesn't need Gauri anymore anyways. Dhani walks in. The baby starts crying and Taiji demands Gauri feed the baby. Gauri refuses saying she doesn't have the right to feed him if she can't love her daughters. Gauri says she will love all her children equally. Taiji is trying to get the baby to stop crying. Taiji agrees to Gauri's condition and apologizes for differing between the two genders. She says not to make the baby suffer for her mistake. She hugs Gauri's daughters and Sumer smiles.
Sarla is telling Mohini how happy she is and now she is assured that there won't be differences between girls and boys in this house anymore. Mohini tells Sarla that Taiji was probably faking it and all this was only because Gauri gave birth to a boy. She points out how Gauri got alot of respect and love today from both Taiji and Sumer, who normally make her miserable. Mohini says Sarla will rule this palace if she gives birth to a boy. She tells her to pray and go to every temple, do whatever it takes, but pray for two things; 1) Sarla should have a son and 2) Dhani should give birth to a daughter.
Dhani is shown praying and Sarla watches her. Sarla is convinced that Dhani is praying to give birth to a son. Amber comes there and Dhani finishes praying. He sees Sarla and calls her over. Amber has brought two boxes, both wrapped. Dhani lets Sarla choose first. Sarla goes to grab the box further away from her but accidently drops it but Dhani catches it. Amber tells Dhani to keep that one and gives the other one to Sarla. Both of them open their gifts to find baby clothes inside. Sarla has girl's clothes while Dhani has boy clothes. Amber says he wants one daughter and one son. He says Sarla will give him a daughter with her smile and Dhani will give him a mischevious son. Amber says their family will be complete. Sarla is upset.
Next morning, Dhani is putting clothes away in her room. Sarla comes with the girl clothes and throws them. Sarla accuses Dhani of wanting Sarla to give birth to a girl so Sarla lags behind Dhani in everything. Dhani tries to make Sarla understand that there is no difference between the two genders. Sarla declares that she will give birth to a boy. She will pray wholeheartedly that Dhani gives birth to a daughter and she a son.
Dhani, Amber, and Sarla are sititng in the doctor's office. The doctor says both babies are fine. Sarla asks if she will have a son or daughter. She covers it up by saying she wants to know so she can knit a sweater of either blue or pink. The doctor says it is illegal to find out the baby's gender and Amber says he doesn't wish to know either as he will treat both genders equally.
