Saat Phere gets a new parivar

Saat Phere had a high point recently when Salouni revealed Jijisa in front of the entire family and her track got over. Now the new characters are going to enter in the show this week. We spoke to Pracheen who is going to enter as Kakasa (Parikshit Sahani)'s son.

About his role, he says, "I play a spoilt brat and Nahar's cousin brother. He is an alcoholic. There are lots of twists in the character. Salouni will try to change him in due course and he will also find his love."

On why he chose to play the character, he reveals, "It is because of Sharad. He is a good friend of mine and we catch up with each other almost every day so it is nice to work with him. There was not a single reason for me to deny this role. Moreover there is some mystery to my character which will be revealed later."

Pracheen has started shooting with the team of the show." I am shooting with them for the past 5 days .I know most of the actors so it was not difficult for me to mix with them. They have shot my entry scene in a very filmy way - for two days they will hide my face!"

Apart from Pracheen, Gitanjali Tikekar, who got married recently is also entering the show, with Pracheen.

Pracheen and Sharad were last seen together in Sindoor Tere Naam Ka. He got famous as Vansh from Kutch Jhunki Si Palken where he played the lead. He has shot for a mythological show of Creative Eye Wratkathaye which is a 12-episode series which is going to start on April 27th on a newly launched channel.

Saat Phere's all vamp show

Saat Phere's special episode on Thursday with see vamps of all Zee's top shows performing on a song. We spoke to Jasveer Kaur, who pays Pavitra in Betiyaan, and Ashwini Kalsekar, who plays Jigyasa in Kasamh Se, for more details.
Says Jasveer, "It is a party sequence and the negative character of the show, Kaveri has invited us for it. She is going to reveal some mystery so the entire family has gathered for it. Five of us will be there so it will be great for the audience. Normally a special guest comes and performs on solo numbers but this was something different. We shot for the episode on Monday."

Adds Ashwini, "All of us are her friends and that is why she has called us for the party. Saat Phere is one of the most popular shows so shooting with the entire family was nice."

After the exit of Jijisa, Kakasa's son had entered in the show. He is a spoilt child and an alcoholic. Salouni and Nahar will try to get him back on track. The focus will remain on him for some time now. A new character as a romantic lead for him will soon enter. Kaveri is the only vamp remaining in the show.

Recently all the members of Saat Phere performed in Rock N Roll family and got appreciation from Ajay Devgan, Jeetendra and Esha Deol.

Ashka Goradia of Kkusum fame will be entering Saat Phere as a lawyer next month. Ashka was busy shooting for the show so we spoke to Shalu from the production house.


Talking about Ashka's character, she says, "She will play a lawyer who hates men. She has gone through a lot in life. At an early age her mother had to face mental problems and she had to take all the responsibility of her house. Because of all this bitterness she has become a very tough woman and does not even like to talk or interact with men."

About her track, she says, "She will fall in love with Kakasa's son Pracheen and they will get married. We do not want to focus more on their love angle. I think they will have only one romantic scene and then will immediately get married. There is a also mystery related to her family which will be revealed in the future."

On her entry, she adds, "We have enough back up episodes so we are not in hurry to bring in her track but we have finished shooting for her entry scene."

The character which Ashka will play was earlier offered to Gitanjali Tikekar. "Yes but it did not work out properly. We had a test of their looks and Pracheen was looking younger than Gitanjali so we decided to cast Ashka," reveals Shalu.

Ashka's role is primarily a cameo which will last for 6 months. It may be extended depending on the TRPs.

Rajshri Thakur aka Saloni suffering from Arthritis

Dark skinned beauty Rajshri Thakur, Saloni of popular Zee serial Saath Phere, has been diagnosed with untreatable disease Arthritis… it has been reported.

This illness only came to light while Rajshri was filming a dance number for the reality show Ek Se Badhkar Ek. A source says, "The shooting of the show was stalled when everyone noticed that she could not dance because of acute knee pain. A doctor was called on the sets too. After inspection, he advised the actress not to stress her knee too much or else it would pose a huge problem." A member of the crew then later confirmed Rajshri's ailment.

According to another source, "Rajshri has generally been very punctual. She would come at 9 am in the morning and leave at 9 pm. However, since the past two months, everything has changed, including the timings. She categorically told the producer that she wouldn't be able to come that early. Now, her call time has become anywhere from 11.30 am to 12.00 am. She stays at Andheri and the studio is at Charkop in Malad. She goes to a doctor everyday for check up and then comes for the shooting."

Arthritis is a disease that affects the joints and is usually seen amongst senior citizens. With Rajshri being diagnosed at such a young age, one worries as to how it will affect her in the future. We here at RS hope and pray for the talented actress and would like all our readers to do the same.

Two new characters introduced in Saat Phere

On completing a whopping 700 episodes, apart from celebrating, the cast of Saat Phere will also be welcoming two of its previous characters, Manno bhabhi (Neena Gupta) and Pia (Niyati Joshi), back to the show.

Mihir Mishra who is known for his role in Sanjeevani as doctor Rahul will now be doing a cameo in Saat Phere. Mihir has started shooting for the show and Deep, the creative head of the show gives us details.

No shoot for Saat Phere

Saat Phere could not shoot on day one of a strike in Bollywood, and the channel will air old episodes instead.
Junior artists, light-men and camera-persons in Bollywood are striking against poor and irregular pay.
"We were not shooting yesterday and are not shooting today either," the show's producer Abdul Karim said, "Moreover we are not sure about tomorrow (Friday) also."

Most TV serials, especially the daily soaps, are shot on a very tight schedule and do not have what is referred to as a bank of finished episodes. The strike, which is 5 days long at least, will affect a lot of serials.

"We were aware about strike and they need to get their dues on time," Abdul said, asked why nothing was done in advance, "However we did not have any episode bank - and were shooting only a day before the telecast so we couldn't bank."

Now he said, viewers would get to see only repeat telecasts of the serial if the strike continued. "But for all of us it is also a nice break from our hectic schedules," he laughed, "how long this strike will go that we do not know. I think it will go on for next four three days. If they will get solution early, then it will get over soon. Let's see what happens."

The TV business has the most manic work schedules in Bollywood with 6-day 14 hour shifts a commonplace thing.

Many other shows did not shoot on the first day of the strike, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which has some banked episodes. Twenty unions comprising some 2 lakh staff are on strike.
