She is not a new face on television but her dew fresh face has got her some decent roles in her kitty. This Delhi girl graduated from New York (specialised marketing and merchandising) enrolled herself in theatre classes besides juggling around with three jobs. She was also a Miss India participant in 1998 and has done several ad films thereafter. She is presently playing the lead in Star Plus' Saarrthi and has a pivotal role in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and anchors many shows on the small screen. Adita Wahi speaks about her journey so far with Kavita Shyam. Background- I did my schooling in Delhi and then modeling happened for a year. I wanted to finish my studies so went abroad and then came back after three years. I to pursue a career in theatre and do art films in Mumbai. But somehow theatre did not work out as it does not pay well so I ended up in television. "Gaurav Gera introduced me to television" Gaurav (Nandu in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi) is someone I've known for a long time. The makers of Saarrthi were known to me and I got a plum role in it. I play an obsessive lover (Shefali) who is married but is still in love with her ex-boyfriend. It's a triangle love story. "Ekta wanted me to play Mayuri in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki" Though I have not met Ekta but then I got a call from Balaji last month saying they wanted me to play this character called Mayuri who is very positive in life. I play this girl, who is very headstrong, a no-nonsense person yet homely and docile nevertheless. She stands up for Parvati no matter what, and lives up for her rights. "People in UK call up to ask for my contact number" I anchor this filmi gossip based show called Chat Masala which is aired only on Zee UK and I have lots of fans there enquiring about me. The show which is a weekly is in its second year now. "I am dating the director of my Zee Music show" I am not dating Karan Grover my co-star in SaarRthi as speculated by the media rather I am dating the director of my show whom I've known for quiet some time now. I got to know him while I was anchoring two shows for Zee Music called Daud and Duty Free. Adita has had no date issues with both the serials which are dailies and claims the producers have been adjusting enough so far.
