Mera Kuch Samaan...: Alka Yagnik pic/ Pradeep Dhivar
Singer/ reality show judge Alka Yagnik recently flew off to the US after quitting Gajendra Singh€™s Voice Of India (Star Plus).
The B-Town singer wanted to dissociate herself from the programme as things were not hunky-dory on the sets.
However, Alka€™s woes did not end even after she quit the show. Much to her chagrin, her baggage went missing when she landed in the US.
As a result, the singer had to face a harrowing time waiting for her belongings!
Missing bag
Speaking from Minneapolis, Alka admits that her luggage went missing on arrival in Los Angeles. €œI flew with Air India and there was a halt at Frankfurt.
I guess that was when my bag went missing. I brought it to the notice of the authorities and I€™ve been told that it has been found, but I haven€™t received it yet.€
Break free
The songstress describes her US visit as a work-cum-pleasure trip. €œThere are some concerts as well as some business meetings to attend.
I will be travelling across the US and later to Canada as well. I have not yet fixed a date for my return to Mumbai; it will be after a while.€
So how is she coping without her bags? €œI had another bag with me, so I am managing,€ she says. €œI am hopeful of the missing bag arriving soon.€
Bygones
As for the Voice of India show, she says, €œThey want me to return to the show but I have decided against it. I€™ve been part of Gajendra Singh€™s earlier Zee show, Li€™l Champs, but my experience with Voice of India was something else.
I don€™t want to get into the reasons now that I have left the show. All I can say is that I didn€™t subscribe to certain views on the show.€
Along with Alka, singer Abhijit, music composers Jatin-Lalit and Aadesh Shrivastava are part of the jury in Voice of India.
