find that really offensive.

As for who is better... Alisha Chinai lacks serious training, and her breath
control .. rather lack of it, proves it. Sunidhi Chauhan is an effortless
singer... her breath control is superb and her range fantastic. today she
sings peppy numbers, tomorrow she can do more soulful ones.

As for Usha Uthup... she is still around on the live music scene... i think
she was immensely talented, but suited to only certain kinds of songs..
and besides in an industry where 2 sisters were fighting against each
other for every song that came out, do you really think it was easy for
such a different voice to find space? Especially in the 70s when lata sang
all the heroine songs and asha all the vampish ones??? They were typecast
among themselves... and we, the audience are as responsible as music
directors and film makers for setting these preconceived stereotypes.

This comparison itself is incorrect. Sinhaji is right in saying Sunidhi is technically far better than Alisha. The vareity that she has sung and that to,to the requirement of the music director's is not something you can overlook.
Anyone with a husky voice could have sung "Kajra re" and the song would have still been a hit. Some songs are like that. She could not repeat that performance and the voice quality during a live show afterwards! Alisha has her own charm with her anglicised hindi songs to which she has done justice.
So compare apples to apples not oranges!!

Blasphemy? Aren't you over reacting Mr. N Sinha? The discussion is about two singers and not some religious icons. Sure to you "Sunidhi is technically very strong." By the same token, I feel that Alisha is technically stronger. We can both lock horns and steadfastly adhere to our opinions forever and a day. I see no problem there whatsoever. However what has Sunidhi's "coming through a talent hunt" got to do with the issue of Alisha Chinoy v Sunidhi Chauhan? That escapes me altogether and I rest my case counsellor!

Sunidhi is an amazing talent...She's the voice of today.Her voice suits all the actresses of today and she gives a rocking performance in each of her songs.Her songs r very groovy types and u'll love dancing on them ...She's a gr8 singer!!
Alisha on the other hand has a very sexy voice.she does really good when the music is a lot haunting ...and has some mysterious effect on it!
