I'll going to kill RA for rejecting my proposal and thinking of this track.π
Now, coming to this, silly lyrics aside, this track does have decent positives. yes, its a combination of both ARR and Shankar mahadevan. Its a risk which I hope will be taken well by the public. The tune is what set this track apart from others. Its foot tapping, refreshingly different and perfectly suited for dance.
Yes, its dominated by ARR but Shankar's contribution too plays an important role. He is his usual self, singing with masti and enjoying his singing as he does always. Its one of his earliest tracks in bollywood and he does pretty well for that. the coordination betwen ARR and shankar is just good, could have been more tighter but given the fast pace of the tune and varying tempo, he as done a splendid job.
Out of ARR's music, this particular tune is just OK, the beats are as usual superb, but it takes a hell lot of time to understand the voice clarity as the singing is again, pretty fast paced. But credit to shankar to add josh an singing in one breath without losing the all important sur quotient. the ending is again loose paced. it should feel that the song is ending, as again, his singing can be tighter. But hey, it was mid 90s and the era was on a transition to a more fast paced tunes and again, ARR remains the pioneer in moving with the times.
I'll cash in on shankar's brand image and popularity quotient in this round.
7/10, but could have been better if the lyrics were decent.
