India has very few good ghazal singers as most are attracted by the Bollywood lights.

If he can go up to top 5 we should be happy. Along the way we may hear few Mehdi Hassan's Ghazals.

Mussarat Abbas reached up to top 6 or 7? with his NFAK songs speciality.

Amanat came in third and he was pretty multi talented.
I simply love this by Ustad Amanat Ali

Sad that many ghazal singers die early due to lack of adequate rest and sleep and at times over drinking.

How can they rest with people everywhere. Look at NFAK too died so young.
The late Khaty Bhai told me a lot about them. It is sad.
One young ghazal master died very early in his teens as the parents were too greedy.

I loved Ranjit Rajwada's rendition of chupke chupke πŸ‘......Only a person with excellent control on sur and taal could do justice to a song like that ....
Hope to hear more ghazals from him ....Hope he isn't prompted to sing "white white face dekhe dilwa beating fast sasura" in future to show his versatlity !!!!!πŸ€”
I think he will do justice to many of NFAK and Rahat saab's songs too....
He might prove to be a great find of SRGMP( the new age ghazal singer ) if he is nurtured well by his mentor .....πŸ˜›

Kuhu ji sahi kaha aapne. Now Mr. Jagjit Singh has some competition.
He is only 17 and yet has such a keen interest in ghazals.
I wonder what is his ambition in life, looks like a career in singing.

Yup summer , what impresses me most is his gayaki ..ghazal can be quite boring to be frank if it is sung without any murkhias and harkates ..and we have very short attention spanπŸ˜† ....But legends like ghulam ali saab always made it interesting by improvising it over and over again playing around with taal( tabla accompaniment )...This 17 year old kid has mastered that art quite a bit already πŸ‘ ....
.he has God gifted talent..he should hone his skill in that direction only πŸ˜ƒ ...

Only problem with ghazals is that most of the songs are sentimetal and sad and this can make one depressive, so music has to be balanced with Punjabi Rock and the wearing of very bright colours.πŸ˜† Daler is a perfect example , he sings ghazals very well too.
