Atif is not qualified enough as a singer to be a contestant of SRGMP. So, can't really say what would happen if Atif was a contestant.

i know he would be rejected because people are just jealous of him,, like aadesh and abhijeet!!but i know he would not ever participate in saregama, because he is a good singer and he doesnt needs to participate in this sort of shows,,,WHY SHOULD HE??? a singer cant participate in this sort shows,,, and i know some people of here would agree to meee,,
He would have been booted with the same comments Snehendu got from HR about sur. I still don't understand why they just don't give all of Atif songs to KK who would do a much better job. Everytime I hear an Atif song covered by any reality show contestant, they seem to do a better job. Atif just has incredible luck to get the compositions. In fact, I am hoping that some competent singer does an album covering all of Atif's songs so that I can enjoy the songs sung in tune. I could/do sing them myself in the shower but unfortuantely, I am almost as besura as Atif!
People, know that its just a bunch of miserable lowlifes who are mentally vestigial at best compared to the rest of us fully grown and matured lifeforms, who are invading this thread to show that Atif is generally disliked by the masses. Their job is to spread hatred, I just hope their prejudice dies away with them. The truth of the matter is that the Indian masses, the mentally coherent ones, have embraced Atif time and again, so much so that his concerts sell out, he is honored across all music channels, his albums turn huge numbers, and his tracks turn movie soundtracks into hits.
