The team of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs left no stone unturned to make the Sufi maestro's birthday a memorable one!

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs is not just a stage which makes big stars out of common people, this is also a stage which creates unforgettable moments for mentors and judges like us," said an emotional Kailash Kher post his birthday celebrations on the Friday episode shoot of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs. The crew was all set to make the otherwise outspoken and fearless Kailash cry with joy! And boy, did they succeed in their endeavor!

The celebrations started off with the kids blindfolding Guru Kailash and giving him a surprise by welcoming two key members of his band 'Kailasa', Naresh and Paresh. The duo sang his favorite songs as a special dedication and Kailash enjoyed every bit of it. Alka Yagnik gifted him a unique and rare musical instrument 'Iktara' as his father used to play that instrument. Kailash was deeply touched by the gesture and was moved to tears. Amongst all the video messages that were played out for him which had his friends, relatives and colleagues from the industry wishing him on his birthday, the one that really aroused his emotions was a video message by his guru, Prahlad Singh Tipanya.

Prahlad Singh Tipanya is a rural school teacher from the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Tipanya is not merely a singer but an interpreter of Kabir and the Sufi tradition. While his amazing rendition of Kabir bhajans are captivating in themselves, his greater strength is his capacity to bring forth the radical nature of Kabir's message that has been part of the Indian tradition for six centuries now. Kailash Kher considers him his guru and is hugely inspired him. A message coming from him was a real soul stirrer for Kailash.

On a lighter note Li'l Champ Niladri Chatterjee, who always gets badgered by Guru Kailash for his poor Hindi, wrote down a poem for Guru Kailash and recited the same in chaste Hindi. This had not only Kailash but the entire crew astonished and he praised the kids saying, "Tumne mere mann ko moh liya hai aaj Niladri."

"I am thoroughly touched and deeply moved by what the team has done for me today. I'm going to cherish these moments all my life and keep a copy of this episode as a fond memory," said Kailash after having wrapped up with the episode.

Though he truly appreciated the efforts taken by the team to make his birthday special, the singer being a bit traditional in nature refused any cake cutting or confetti blast. "I don't believe in doing huge pomp and show on birthdays. I like quiet birthdays. The Sa Re Ga Ma team has already gratified me in a big way. I'll never forget this day," said the ace singer.
