Life is not fair, even in a singing show, anything on TV is not fair to WOMEN especially.
Does this mean we take unfairness and not even demand equal and fair treatment for everybody. If nobody raised their voice or did something about the unfairness, we would still have no human rights.

MA has not been hyped for anything except his singing, if he was hyped in the first place. Only in one episode Pt. VMB told us a few things about his family background. I have keenly been following this show and believe me, no one else said anything else about him except his singing.I still don't know which gharana he is from.
MA was eliminated he came back because of Pundit Jasraj. Pundit Jasraj went into a huge how good he was when MA was ten year old and he comes from a musical family, he knows his grandfather. It is very clear he was promoting his peers family and children.
Shanker very clearly said that his throat only works in one way, he even copied him, even now the same it true and his songs and singing is very similar and he can never ever sing folk or light song, ask him to sing a wedding song but now somehow anyone who questions or say anything to MA's singing capabilities is not considered sophisticated music listener, MA is the scared cow nobody can touch. I wouldn't be able to listen to his kind of music all the time to me is very same in each and every song. His throat makes the same noise. Ask him to sing Kishore's songs

About vaishali, yes ! I was very happy and proud that she rose up the ranks and it is absolutely commendable. She does deserve what she has achieved in life. She did come to SRGMP from being the winner of their marathi edition, half way through this show and it was absolutely unfair to the other contestants. The channel did go on and on and on about her background in every episode. I remember.
I don't think Vaishali has power to stop them or ask them to go into her background, that is channels decision. I bet the found it very very surprising that she could make it, while suffering from extreme hunger and deprivation, while sons and daughter of middle class are getting music lesson with gurus. It is miracle, it just shows that Indian top three classes don't hold the key to success, others are even better.

Believe me, the viewers who vote are quite stupid. or biased, whatever. Just because you and me don't vote does not make us superior. For a generation or generations of people who watch stereotyped female put downs in every female oriented serial, or those brain numbing movies where females are treated as objects, who literally grow up on the that, you seriously think they are not influenced or prejudiced?[p.s i neither watch movies or serials!]
Neither do I watch the stupid serials or movies. The Bollywood movies have taken female harassment to different level.

People ONLY vote based on looks, sob stories, region, religion etc etc, you think they vote for singing??

Mostly college females vote for male singers, most males think of females as objects, do you seriously expect them to vote for objects?😑
I agree, that is the reason we the thinking public should demand that channels be fair to both the genders. They should began with bringing in very strong female judges, not just Alka etc but I am sure their are many. I found Sherya to be a very good judge, I am sure their are many more..even female music guru can be the judges.

I had already written about madhuri being referred as bahu non stop, right at the beginning of the show.

My point is madhuri could have said NO. Why did she not? She wanted the best of everything and if she could reach the top based on that good enough. If her singing was strong , it should have carried her through, right?
I don't think they have the power or option to tell the channel, they are forced to play the game. What about Maduri's own identity, her hard work and parents who took her to lessons and made her what she is ..in two years her sasu ji became everything, total nonsense.

Vaishali's singing was strong enough, so she should have put a full stop to her sob story being aired. She did not. why?
I don't she had power to dictate to the channel what to say and what not to say. I bet they have very air tight legal agreements re contestant interference in the format of the show, including what is being said on the show. They probably have to agree that their life story will be used in which ever way appropriate and they will cooperate with the show managers.

To tell you the truth she is my most favorite singer of all times, her singing gave me goose bumps, she had a way of singing and voice to hit all the right notes and have right emotions in her song. She didn't make it big because she has no connections and doesn't come from middle class and unlike others she have any mentor. I find her as good as Sherya, better than all the male singer ever crowned on the show. She is not famous because she could find no mentors.

I will say the same for vishwajeet or jasraj.

Everyone wants all the advantages it can get them to reach the top.

Not all singers were born upper class. Most of them have a pretty sorry story behind them, including the very respectable toasted ones.
I agree, but they don't come from a family that had only lived on one meal a day, no room just a broken down hut (actually not even a proper hut) a village with no fresh water, they may be poor but they still come from three upper classes.
That is beside the point, I loved her voice and her singing, she didn't make it big because she doesn't come from middle India and couldn't find any mentors. Even today when I find her songs on utube (cannot find many) they give me goose bumps.
This is not a show, It is a competition, whether we like it or not. If it was a show, we would not have eliminations/ evictions.
All female singers gone very few were selected in the first place, what kind of competition is this. This is total flop show, not worth watching. The judges are busy promoting themselves and thumping each other on the back, I find it funny that judges want to sing all the time and are trying to promote themselves. This is one flop show,

I do not want to drag this topic on.

You have a very strong and legitimate, to some extent, unidimensional view point. I respect that.

Just a couple of points.
It was pandit vishwa mohan bhat, not pandit jasraj.

He is vishwajeet and not vishwanath. He did not come on the show with his wife and Kid. Yeah, wife was there. Kid?an unborn kid, yeah !

If there is a sacred cow on this show, it is Jasraj.

I would rather hear MA make the same noise from his throat than hear him sing a wedding song. God forbid. 😳

Just because some one does not enjoy classical music makes them less sophisticated? wherever did you get that idea from?

Lata and Asha themselves started taking classical music lessons after they started singing in films. I hope you know why.

I hope you felt SRGMP was fair to Sniti, Sugandha when they were thrown out before the finale.
I still cannot believe they crowned kamal khan the winner when they had an Abhilasha as the finalist. I hope you raised your voice asking why those three girls were not made the finalists, where they deserved to be.

Judges thumping each other on reality shows is not new. it has been happening for a decade, this time seemed less obvious to me. Why should the judges not sing? They do not judge anywayπŸ˜†πŸ˜†Some judges can sing, let them, those who cannot , let them shut up.Judges being promoted is not happening for the first time. So, why the major hue and cry?

Peace out !😊

Hmmm... Interesting topic and interesting discussion ...
Unfortunately the female contestants on this show were not good enough to fight over ... period.
Am all for having a 50% reservation for females on the judges panel though πŸ˜› or maybe it should be 100% for the next season πŸ˜‰

I agree with most of your suggestions. Lets have 100% female judges, and at least 50%.
The judges should choose good female singers during auditions. I loved Maduri she brought a different dimension to the show.
I have quit watching the show, for me it is total flop show, the judges are just trying to show their talent.
