Kabir had decided to tell Ananya about her health condition, because he felt she had a right to know and as a friend, he shouldn't hide anything from her. There were 90% - 10% chances; the former being the chances of living, considering the fact that she had recovered to a great extent. Still, the threat of 10% had frightened Ananya. She had cried like a baby that night, but in Kabir's arms. Kabir had simply taken her head and buried it in his chest, letting her soak his shirt. He caressed her, muttering sweet nothings and reassuring her that she will be okay. Ananya couldn't name the feeling which he felt when she was in his arms. She felt safe; she felt protected. Ananya had started with loud wails, which had switched to weeping and lastly to silent sobs. "Shh, Ananya... you are straining yourself. You will hurt yourself more, this way. Don't cry Ananya. Nothing will happen to you. Arrey, I am a doctor, na, then why fear, when Kabir is here...!" Ananya giggled in between her sobs. Kabir felt a little relieved. She held on to him more tightly and said.
"I know I wanted to end this life. But now, I am enjoying this new life... this new friendship... and... and now..." she couldn't finish as a fresh round of tears took up.
"Ananya, you have to be strong. The journalist Ananya I know is not like this. She is the boldest and the most powerful woman I have ever seen. And I prefer it that way. What about the Reporter in you, Ananya? What about the Editor In Chief Ananya Kashyap? The powerful chair is calling you. You have such a large empire to handle and I am sure you will be absolutely fine and will go back to doing what you love doing the most. It's been so long since I saw your bulletin Ananya... I have been surviving on YouTube man! So all will be okay... Now stop crying yaar!" Kabir said and noticed Ananya looking at him with moist eyes.
"You follow my news that closely?!" her eyes widened.
"Yes... ask anyone in the hospital... your news is the only discussion I have with my staff during free time!" Ananya secretly rejoiced at this. She had a fan of hers who had turned out to be her friend over time.
Sometime later, Kabir noticed that Ananya wasn't moving. He looked down and found her sleeping, with one arm around his waist and the other, resting on his chest. Kabir couldn't help but smile at the innocent soul. She had suffered a lot. People had trampled this beautiful flower and had tried to snatch her innocence. But with great will power, she had sustained it. For some reason, Kabir cursed Rohan. He cursed him for spoiling Ananya's life. He cursed him for hurting her to an extent which had forced her to take a fatal decision. But, his rage softened as he saw Ananya sleeping peacefully. That night, Kabir let Ananya cuddle close to him and sleep. And boy, it was a wonderful night, too; in its own way!
