@krishni : if other actors can do such an awesome job..then being the lead what is stopping him...certainly his acting is lacking...most of the time ram's face has zero expressions...a more charismatic RAM would have made a lot of difference to the show...

Yes you're right...
Do you remember that tale where Ram and Lakshman deal with Surpanakha...wasn't that humorous!Definitely Ram had some sense of humor...
He was calm and stable in nature...but that doesn't mean he was without any movement or expressions!

Even I'm disappointed with Gagan's acting since the past few episodes..Is it incomplete from his side? or is it something with the way they are projecting him though he is giving his best?...I'm not getting what do you say???๐Ÿ˜•

Yeah, even I don't know whether it's the characterization of Ram or Gagan himself, but I feel disappointed whenever I see him onscreen.๐Ÿ˜• Neha is a good actress and the only reason I don't enjoy the Sita scenes is that Sita is being projected with an attitude problem and sometimes tantrumy, but Neha herself is interesting to watch when Sita is characterized fine. As for Neil, even he is interesting to watch when Lakshman is characterized well. But Gagan is always the same. He always has the same expression on his face no matter what kind of situation it is, sad or happy, serious or lighthearted.๐Ÿค”

I have to make sometime and watch 2009 Ramayan...
I'm interested and curious to see how Gurmeet did justice to his role(Ram)!

I think the directors tried to bring actors who resembled the ones in 1986 Ramayana. Neil resembles Sunil Lahri, and Gagan even resembles Arun Govil in some way, but the thing is, they paid less attention to his acting. I am beginning to think Gagan is a misfit for Ram because even after all these episodes, he hasn't improved at all. He is at the same place he was during the beginning of the show. He has only one expression all the time, in all the scenes. To be honest, he's very boring to watch.

Yeah, it's a common misconception with people that since Ram was calm, he was dull, but that's not true. Both in Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas, Lord Rama's character is a very active one! He was a fierce warrior who made his enemies tremble with fear, and at the same time he was calm and peaceful when need be.
Lord Ram is called Maryada Purushotham NOT because he was always calm, but because he showed the proper emotion in every moment of his life. When people sinned, he got very angry, when devotees came to him for shelter, he was merciful, and with Sita Ma he was romantic๐Ÿ˜‰. With his brothers he was very loving and protective, Lord Ram expressed ALL the emotions of a human life so to show him only calm is a big blunder.
Gurmeet was just wonderful as Lord Ram. I'm not saying this as a fan, but as an unbiased viewer of all mythological shows. In fact, I became a fan of his after Ramayan only. He defined Lord Ram for me, and he enacted the role so well that sometimes, I felt as if I was seeing Lord Ram himself onscreen.๐Ÿ˜ณ

Yah you right!
He expressed everything , he was devoted but yet not attached!
Oh really!this makes me more curious...I wish I watched 2009 Ramayan when it was aired on TV!

but i feel lakshman and bharat scene was not overdone at all..infact as per the valmiki version they could have done more...they could shown all animals running here and there when lakshman was charging towards bharat..infact as per valmiki the anger of lakshman in this scene was volcanic and he was unstoppable...and they did justice to the scene. and neil did just wonders with his acting prowess..hats off to him...i will go n check both the version and see for my self
