As Raja leaves, his mothers picture falls from the wall and breaks. Fatemah turns around and is shocked. She gets worried and prays that everything goes well at Aryan's house.
Raja arrives at Aryan's with the shagun. Aryan, Nilima and Dadi come downstairs. Raja gives the shagun ki thali to Dadi and says this is Aryan and Nandini's shagun. Dadi says they had asked for Nandini's rishta not for the Nandini who can't become a mother. All are stunned. Dadi shows Raja the letter Nandini wrote to Aryan. Dadi throws it on the floor saying the woman who can't give this house a heir has no right to become the daughter in law. Raja has tears in his eyes. Dadi questions why such a big thing was hidden from them. Dadi says marriages happen to extend the family, but by getting Aryan married to Nandini no such thing will happen. Raja says he wanted to discuss this matter with her, but Nandini insisted on speaking to Aryan first as its their life. Dadi interrupts and tells Raja that these are all excuses, their main intention was to get the two married without this truth being exposed but now that the truth is out and that to before marriage she has made her decision: Nandini and Aryan can not get married and thats final. Dadi continues speaking harsh words and insults Raja even more. Raja folds his hands infront of Aryan and says he never intended to hide the truth to them. He asks why Aryan sent the flowers if he wanted to refuse to marry Nandini. Aryan is speechless. Raja says he has never bowed against anyone, but today he is begging for his sisters happiness. He falls onto his knees and begs Aryan to accept Nandini. Nilima tries to make Dadi change her mind, but Dadi shuts her up by saying shouldn't interfer. Dadi makes it clear to Raja that come what may Nandini and Aryan can not marry. Raja is heart broken and shocked.
