Before this show, I was meh about Radha. She is not in any main Krishna texts and is likely an imaginary character. I mean, Brahmavaivarta purana even says Panchali is Radha (though that, too, is imaginary), so I was quite happy. πŸ˜† Now, I actively dislike Radha. Thanks to Swastik and this show.

I toh have started hating the term 'prem' itself all thanks to the overdose of toxic prem shown in this serial. πŸ˜†

Radha? This show has actually made me dislike Krishna

Although I take it as a fictional element and don't take this Krishna related to the real Krishna still this makes me highly uncomfortable

The old inscriptions (dating around 1800-2200 years from now) always mention praises to Vasudev and other Vrisni heroes.

There is no mention to the name Krishna

Could it be that the Vrishni heroes and Krishna of Mahabharat were different people who merged into one in due course of time

I don't even treat this show's characters as Gods and Goddesses. They just have some supernatural powers that make them different from others but they're not Gods. Forget Krishna, Balram and Radha even Mahadev and Parvati of this show don't behave like Gods.

Kuch bhi dikha rahe hain yeh log. Now they're showing Radha and Parvati fighting with each other for Bal Ganesh. Radha asks Krishna to fight with Mohasur for her 'prem'. πŸ€ͺKrishna knows Radha is wrong in claiming Bal Ganesh as her own but still sakhi ki iccha is aadesh for him na. 🀣He still fights with Mohasur even though he is not interested.

Now they have changed the Sudarshan Chakra story too. Few weeks ago they showed Ganesha swallowing Vishnu's sudarshan chakra. In the original story Vishnu does uthak baithak so that Ganesh can laugh and the chakra can fall off from his tummy. In the precap they showed Ganesh himself returned the sudarshan chakra to Krishna for him to fight with Mohasur. 🀣 I was looking forward to see Krishna/Vishnu doing all kinds of antics to make Ganesha laugh for the chakra to come out of his tummy but in logo ne toh kuch aur hi dikha diya. Those scenes would have been so cute to watch.

Vasudev or VAsudev?

Also, Krishna's actual name was Govinda. He is also called Shouri off and on as he was from the Shurasena clan. Panchali was the one with actual name Krishna.

Even in MBh we have now, she is consistent called Krishna while the male Krishna is called by his various other names most of the time.

Somewhere between the time the epic was composed and now, the name Krishna became synonymous with Shouri VAsudeva Govinda.

Yes. And she is constantly called by that name. While male Krishna is not.

In the English translations, both names are written with same spelling so it's very easy to see he's hardly called that name in MBh.

But in our times, Krishna means Shouri VAsudeva Govinda.

That and Panchali's backstory is why I keep saying she was meant to be Vyasa's Vishnu avatar, not Govinda. Like Mohini before. But Panchali didn't have progeny to promote her. Also, society prefers male gods. So...
