I have a curious ques. Why did they not take vasudev and devaki ka names in front of Nand and Yashoda??? NAND is again his very good friend. Very smartly they did not take the parents names at all. That way balram's thing also would have been highlighted.
Gayatri, they DID actually take Vasudev's and Devki's names in front of Nand and Yashoda, in the episode of Tuesday 19 November (episode 356).
Just after Radha told Yashoda that Krishna is not Nand's and Yashoda's son, Akrur confirmed this and told them that Krishna was their good friend Vasudev's and Devki's son, and Kans's nephew. They even showed a flashback of Vasudev carrying baby Krishna across the Yamuna river during the storm and then leaving him with Yashoda while taking away Yashoda's baby daughter. Akrur actually explained to Nand and Yashoda right then that their friend Vasudev knew that they would look after Krishna very well and so left him with them, and that Devi Yogmaya had taken birth as Yashoda-Nand's daughter and was destined to go with Vasudev, and that it was destiny for Nand-Yashoda to be Krishna's foster parents for the early part of his life.
And after being upset for a while, Yashoda then calmed down and eventually told Krishna to go and free his parents from Kans's prison, etc etc.
So yes, they did actually tell Yashoda and Nand about Devki and Vasudev, and about their own baby daughter, right to their faces in the show. And thankfully it was Akrur who told them this, as opposed to Radha!!! Small mercies! (The writers' making everything revolve around Radha is so unnecessary, silly and irritating!)
BUT, it is another thing all together that
- Rohini has been completely MISSING from the show for ages - particularly at this important moment when Balram is also leaving Vrindavan;
- nothing AT ALL was said about Balram's parentage, despite Vasudev and Devki being mentioned; and
- they are COMPLETELY IGNORING Balram - as if he is not leaving, as if he is not a prince, as if his parents aren't in jail, as if he wasn't well-liked and loved in Vrindavan/Barsana, as if he doesn't actually exist!!! π‘
So horribly disrespectful, and actually downright stupid!!! (Not that the RK writers seem to know what logic is!)
Seriously, it would have only taken a few seconds to say SOMETHING (anything!) about this, and the least they could have done is to have Balram get a farewell tilak at all! At least he did get a hug from Yashoda and blessings from her and Nand before leaving! Small mercies, again!
