Another point here Suta, if we read the scriptures, kids are not entitled to do Pujas and rituals. Krishna was a kid, a 9/10 year old kid at that time . And as you rightly mentioned, he was known as a cowherd boy, Nand's son. I think they should've avoided this Puja, to add spice to the drama they did it, for puritans Dharma is more important than the drama!!Originally posted by: Sutapasima

Those days caste system was very strictly adhered to ...and it’s wrong to show Krishn who was a Gwala bal ..equivalent to shudra caste being Nand’s son . performed the Pooja of Narayan ... though letter he was proved to be Kshatriya when he revealed to be Devaki’s son ... Radha who was born in Kshatriya family ..was this main reason Barsana Villagers were against RK marriage ..
Caste system is the curse of the present time after Mahabharat and Dwapar Yug! Though, there were four Varnas during the time of Lord Sri Ram and Lord Sri Krishna, but there was not so hardcore rule for any Varna. Even, Varna of a person was changeable as per Karma of that person, not by birth! Caste is a form of social stratification characterized by endogamy, hereditary transmission of a style of life which often includes an occupation in those days, and customary social interaction for the ritual status and exclusion based on cultural notions of purity!!
