Janu, just a bit of a warning for you:

Basant's stint as Karn actually lasted only about 1.5 months, not 2.5 months. He played Karn in 31 episodes, from episode 38 (25 August 2015) until episode 68 (6 October 2015), and Gautam Rode entered as adult Karn towards the end of episode 68. I assume you are currently up to somewhere in this section of episodes?

Also, Basant's entry as Vrishsen is in episode 183 (7 March 2016), so you will have a 114-episode no-Basant gap between young Karn and Vrishsen if you're watching the whole show with your dad. Depending on how quickly you guys cover those episodes, hopefully you won't have a 5-month no-Basant-SPK-episodes gap like I did back in the day in 2015-2016! πŸ˜† Basant's stint as Vrishsen lasts for almost 2.5 months-worth of episodes but he isn't in every one of those episodes. I won't reveal which one was his final episode, so as not to spoil things for you, Janu. (Not that anyone asked, but yes, I know these episode numbers and dates that I've mentioned by heart. πŸ˜†)

The 20-month gap between Vrishsen and Vighnaharta Ganesh's Kartikeya was the worst no-Basant-on-TV gap of all time! God knows what that was like for me! smiley29smiley37 Although, I did re-watch Basant's Crime Patrol and SPK episodes a bit then, which would explain why I can remember his SPK episode numbers!!! 🀣

Bye for now and hopefully I'll be able to pop in here a little more regularly again soon!

Right now I am approaching the wrap up of Karn’s character just a few more episodes with the numbers you gave. I hope I get through the episodes quickly. Plus I do know the story of Mahabharat so if it just repeated stuff I might get through it quickly. I don’t know what his last episode number as Vrishsen is but I do know how it ends...that will be a sad one whenever I get to thatπŸ₯Ί

I did watch that crime patrol episode and remember it well because I watched it instead of doing an essay 😜 anyway I did like him in that as well it was something very very new.

Anyway I will let you guys know whenever I finish seeing him as Karn and then again when I get to the Vrishsen episodes.

Edit- I quoted this badly 🀣

if he doesn't get lead after this, then it will prove that the industry is inefficient to recognize true talent. hope he gets plump offers 😳

@bold - me too, but we already have something for you πŸ₯³pls check the link section from first page of this AT and watch his crime petrol episode. if you liked his acting range then it will impress you more ⭐️

oh, vrishsen arrives from 6/7 march 2016 episode.... nearly six months after teen karn's exit. and vrishsen's initial plot is not that intriguing imo... but it grows on you... he gets his proper due during the kurukshetra track...

so till then u can easily watch the crime petrol episode πŸ˜† i m talking about it again and again because it left an impact on me πŸ˜›

all the best πŸ‘πŸΌ

I need to watch him as Kartikey I started it then just lost interest in VG at that time I don’t think Basant was in the show.

To be honest there are many people in the industry that deserve more credit but makers don’t ever want to focus on them it sucks. I hope it goes well for Basant and he does get a lead role in his future endeavors

I did watch the crime patrol episode before (instead of doing homework I procrastinate a lot😁) I can say I was very impressed It was something new and I did like it took me some time to process but in the end I did like his acting.

some people are really have blinkers in their eyes but its necessary for them to poke nose in every issue... bhai sumeh k fan ho toh balram ki costumes ko le ke headache kyu inko πŸ˜•

having said that, i feel like removing the red drape from the beige costume and throw it somewhere πŸ˜†kya soch ke beige / blue k saath red combine kiya tha wo bhi pura plain... costume designer could have worked some more on balram . there are so many options, like combination colors, embroideries, embellishments, appliques etc . radha wears printed crop tops too... though i m not sure if print technology existed back then....

waiting for your next vm arti πŸ˜ƒ

I am fine with his costumes at this point. I know they are different but the difference is hard to see that would probably be the only thing that annoyed me before. I am okay with it now but I wish they just had made the clothes more distinct like as you said color combos and so on. Now it is too late to have new costumes I was actually kind of surprised when he did get that new outfit the beige one.

Btw I have so many back to back posts sorry for that I just had thoughts on the stuff you guys said.

Hi, BB fans!

There is a new poll on the Just Showbiz website for most promising supporting actors (of Hindi TV), and Basant is in the list! smiley32smiley10

Show your support by voting for him at https://www.justshowbiz.net/vote-most-promising-supporting-actors

You can vote as many times as you like, and no sign-in/authentication is required. smiley1

Basant is the only actor from a mythological show in this poll. He does a totally awesome job as Balram in RK and as Kartikeya in Vighnaharta Ganesh, and as a long-time Basant fan since his TV debut in Suryaputra Karn (where he was also fabulous!), it is totally awesome for me to see him getting this very well-deserved wider recognition! smiley4smiley32smiley41

Today we barely saw Balram, but it was funny to see how easily he is fooled by Kanha. The poor man is incredulous when it comes to his Kanha πŸ˜†

@Bold, blue from Cynthia: Balram being so easily fooled by Krishna seems to be the current thing the CVs are milking for laughs. Frankly I'm getting tired of it, although it is still a bit amusing and is nowhere near as irritating as the time they had Yashoda constantly running after Balram to punish him. It's ok with Balram-Krishna as they are brothers and know of each others divine reality, but I do wish the CVs would stop making fun of Balram for no actual reason in general; it is getting tiresome and I would rather just see him actually being funny himself rather than that in combination with him being made fun of so much by so many people and often for no good reason, like with those girls putting his bed in a muddy area when he visited Chandravalli's home during the Govardhan pooja time! πŸ˜• (Why? Just why??? Another silly thing that didn't actually contribute anything to the story at all!)

@Bold, red from Tusu: I don't know what the complaining people see when they watch/see Balram on screen - maybe just a fast-moving blur of blue, like during the pehelwaan nritya! 🀣 In which case, I'm surprised that they can actually recognise Basant! 🀣

Even if they can't differentiate between patterns and so don't realise how many different costumes he has actually worn in the show, I don't understand how these people can't see that there are SOME different blue costumes just from the different shades of blue! Unless of course, if they have colour-vision issues that make it difficult for them to tell the different blue shades apart - in which case, fair enough! (I would think that people with colour-vision issues would quite likely also have trouble telling Krishna's costumes apart.) Of course, people with actual colour-vision issues are unlikely to actually complain about colour-related things like this! πŸ˜†

Tusu, I agree with you that the complainers are just saying silly things for no good reason, just to get some kind of attention. (After all, as the saying goes, empty vessels make the most noise!) Of all the feedback Swastik Productions took into account, though, it was this??? I wish they would instead listen to people's actual constructive criticism about things like their unnecessary over-fictionalisation and shoddy treatment/degradation of the essence of revered/beloved/divine characters instead of such silly things! (Although, they may have taken some viewer feedback into account in stopping the ridding-Radha-of-vikaars storyline after five vikaars instead of the seven they seemed to indicate there would be when they started the storyline.)

I actually find these people's idiotic costume complaints extremely funny because they are making such fools of themselves publicly! 🀣 And I'll stop talking about them now because they don't deserve more air-time, but first I want to share something (I think is) funny: if the complaining people react with such outrage about Balram's supposed lack of different costumes within only 8 months of RK even though he actually has several different costumes, I imagine that they would have a collective heart attack if they watched Basant as Kartikeya in Vighnaharata Ganesh, because apart from when he is in disguise, Kartikeya literally has only one usual costume and it's been that way for nearly 2 years! πŸ’”πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£ (This is actually the case for most of the VG characters, but no one complains about it because it doesn't matter! If the RK costume complainers happened to watch VG for a little while then they might just "die" out of shock! πŸ˜†) Ok, that's enough about these silly people now that I've had my laugh! πŸ˜‰

When it's Kanha joking with Balram, it's not a bad thing. They're two brothers. Both of them know who they are. And then Krishna often does it, so it's doable.

On the other hand, yes, when it was Yashoda, I found it "too much"

I agree with you, Cynthia.

I updated my post above while you wrote this post of yours that I've quoted, so here is all that I wrote about Balram being made fun of and what I think of it:
